Bryan Seely He's a really smart guy (cyber security/hacker), but be very wary. He's not to be trusted in business. Seattle WASHINGTON

I worked with this guy in the fall of 2013. He used to live in an apartment in shoreline at the time. He used to run a company in which (as far as I remember) he would spam Google Maps with addresses and listings, and then sell those listings/addresses to companies and individuals, some of them not in the U.S.. I worked with him briefly for 2 weeks, and after all of my work, I tried to get him to pay me, but then he ceased communication with me, and started telling me sob stories about his divorce and his poor economic situation.

The guy is a veteran, and he was in the marines for a while, and he displays classical signs of PTSD. I think he was deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, and it sort of made it very difficult for him to reacclimate to the U.S. He also told me that he used to have substance abuse issues(meth i believe). However, at the time he did not appear to be using any substances. 

I tried to be understanding, but after a week or so I realized that the guy was doing something that was borderline illegal, and he was trying to monetize it. When he initially described to me the work that he was doing, I thought it was ok since I didn't really understand google maps at all very well or really think that such a smart person could engage in criminal activity. Seriously, why would anyone do that when they could work at Google or Microsoft or Apple?

I think I spent like a month after I broke off working with him trying to get him to pay me, but he never responded or did anything. I didn't pursue legal action at the time because I had more pressing matters to deal with--I had to find other work quickly, and I could'nt devote too much time to chasing him down.

So I sort of forgot about it for 3 years. I probably would have moved on had it not been for his behavior in trying to gain some publicity advocating against the very things he used to do himself.

I recently found out that he did an AMA on reddit, and he even held a ted talk, precisely on the google map security issue that he used to work in. He used to work and try to monetize these security flaws on google maps for his own purposes, but I think he was unable to get it to work because he wasn't able to bring in money and because his personal life was falling apart.

To everyone reading this and who has met Bryan Seely, he's a very smart guy, but he's just not trustworthy. He's a guy who has exemplary hackign skills, but he is very selfish, and is concerned with trying to make it and look good in the eyes of others. Whenehver something doesn't work out for him, his tendency is to just bail and leave.

Judging by thte fact that there's sometone else who made a report on him, I can see that he's screwed over plenty of people.I don't want to put down the guy too much, because PTSD is a terrible condition, but it's like, dude, get some help before you work with other people.

One of the important traits of successful entrepreneurs and business owners is their level of conscientiousness. You have to have self control, know how to talk to people, and own up to your own mistakes. I mean, I read that you figured out Mark Cuban's email address, but did that even lead to anything? lol.

I'm willing to immediately remove this rip off report the moment Bryan Seely pays me $1,200.00 that he owes me from work performed in the fall of 2013. Bryan, you know who I am and I still have the same email and skype.  Until then, this ripoff report will stay here until the end of ripoffreport.
