Budget rental car Co. is not taking responsibility for their employees. I used a rental car from this company for the weekend of my wedding four weeks ago. The car was dirty but overall it was a nice car. Upon returning my car on our way to our honeymoon in Mexico I had left my cell phone in their car. Upon returning I went home looked for my phone for 2 days and then bought a new one.

So last week I received my bill for my cell phone. The balance due was over $1500. What had happened was one of the employees with this company stole the phone from the car and made many many calls through out the world. I called At&t and they could not help me as I am responsible for the phone until it is reported stolen and top of that they advise me that August first I will be charged $30 a day interest. I then called Budget and spoke to woman there.

She told me that it looks as though the phone had to have been stolen by one of their employees as the rental car was checked out 5 1/2 hours after we checked it in and the phone calls started 2 1/2 hours after we checked it in. She called the manager in San Francisco and he was not co-operating so she told me that if there is no co-operation by July 10th they will write us a check for the phone calls.

July 10th came and i called them to see about the check and if there is any new info. I called and the case was transferred to a supervisor. I tried to contact the supervisor for 4 days with no return call until yesterday. When i had asked to have her call me at work.. what does she do... she calls my home so she does not have to talk to me. She then leaves a message that states that they are closing my case as they cannot tell if it was one of thier employees because the phone was not turned into their lost and found. No kidding. It was stolen. So here is where I am at.

To top this off my wife was rushed to the hospital in mexico and that bill is $1000 itself. Spent the last night of our honeymoon in the hospital sharing a small bed in a 100 degree room. Please help. We are a young couple who is going further and further in the hole. Do not deal with Budget rental car as they are snakes and the supervisors are very irresponsible.
