My husband and I are part of the many of unknowing English Bulldog lovers that wanted a smaller version (thus "MINI") of the adorable Bulldog, and totally fell for the SCAM run by The Bulldog Exchange.
We thought we did the research, and like many others, did not see any red flags when we started the process...then we totally fell in love with an adorable puppy we named Anni as she was born on our 30th wedding anniversary.
We love our sons full size English Bulldog but we live in a smaller home so the mini seemed perfect for us, less than 40 lbs full grown sounded perfect!
We mostly dealt with Lisa Vitale but also spoke to Stacey in the process.
We live less than 1 hour away from West Palm so we arranged a deal for pick up and we were very excited to see the puppy but then it started... just like everyone else has said.. Lies, excuses and deceptions that we, being as nieve as we are, believed, but it seemed very strange.Deaths in the family, animal sickness, trees fallen and damaged homes, tornadoes and many other excuses riddled the 6 weeks we dealt with this family.
We would get weekly photos and we had markings we looked for so we know we received the correct dog BUT she was delivered to us by a total stranger, instead of the breeders, in an Office Depot parking lot near the WPB airport. She was close to 18 lbs at the time but was stuffed into a small cat crate.. We had to break open the crate to get her out and she was a skiddish as can be....she had diarrhea for 3 days and did not sleep for the 3 days. Our vet said she was healthy at the moment but also has had some issues like mange and skin conditions.
She is an amazing puppy. She is now 9 months old and weighs 43 lbs! We love her dearly BUT she is NOT a pure 100% English Bulldog.. we are not sure if she has boxer or pitbull in her but she is not a pure bulldog as we were promised..
We are sure she was shipped from somewhere and did not come from WPB.. We have not spoken to Lisa since we have had her and we do not care to EVER talk to them again.. In fact many love Anni and want one like her BUT WE will never recommend ANY breeder where you cannot see where the dogs are kept, AND cannot pick your puppy in person!
PLEASE LEARN from the bad experiences of others.
The Bulldog Exchange and ALL the breeders on the MBCOA website ARE THE SAME breeders....BEWARE!!
