Purchased 2000 VW Beetle from used lot, and I was told that the price included a lojack system installed. They charged me 1000.00 for the install on the paperwork come to find out. This car was bought on Saturday, returned it to the dealer the following Monday for the lojack install, by the time I got home that evening, the AC was no longer working at all. No fan, no air.

The following morning (Tuesday) I took it back to the dealer to have them look at the AC, and when I went to take it around back to the service dept smoke started coming out of the dash. The wiring harness burned up. I told the service guy Corey, the salesman Carlos, and the sales manager Terry Tomlinson that I was returning the car and wanted nothing more to do with it. I don't want to buy a car with electrical problems, they never seem to get fully fixed. Terry stated that he would go over to finance and reverse the deal and we could start over fresh and to drive something else off the lot while he got it sorted out.

When I returned to the dealership the following Monday, you could tell there was something up. The salesman Carlos was nervous and wouldn't look at me. He got someone named Eli to talk to me (never seen this guy before) and tell me that the car was mine and the bank's and it was my problem. I had already bought another car at another dealer two days before that by the way, so they are saying "Well, looks like you got two cars" and being severely rude.

While I'm sitting in the used car sales offices, two other salesmen are telling racial jokes and making fun of one of the other salesman behind his back in a racially offensive manner. This is a good indicator that this is not the place to go to purchase anything at all. So I call Terry Tomlin to ask him about the contract getting reversed, and he tells me he never said that and gets very rude and basically tells me it's my problem now. I haven't even seen the car since I took it back, smoldering, with no electrical system. I'm also using my mother's credit on the contract. I will warn all that I can and never buy anything from Buz Post Motors again.

Buz Post Got Me Too!!!

AUTHOR: Gina - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 05, 2004

I also was given a Rodeo to drive for 3 weeks when I was called back in to "sign the papers". When I got there they told me that I couldn't keep the rodeo because they couldn't reduce the price enough so i would have a payment under $400 (suppossedly the finance company said i had to be under $400 a month). then i was given a used stratus. had that for like 1 1/2 weeks and they again told me i basically had to get a used sebring. well, the sebring actually ended up costing more than the rodeo and my payments were $491 a month!!! even though they used the same finance company that didnt want me over $400 on the rodeo!! and to top it off, the sold the car i traded in before i signed the papers on anything!! i was a first time buyer and not knowledgable in the process, but now i highly recommend looking into a company deeply before doing any business with them. and as for buz post, i tell everyone i meet not to go there and if i make them loose just one sale, it would be worth it!!

I've been through the same thing in Arlington, also!!!

AUTHOR: Shannon - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 25, 2004

Don Davis Auto in Arlington (off of I-20) did the exact same thing to me in 1996. My husband and me went to trade in a Nissan for a used van (we needed more room...growing family), and on the way home from signing the papers, the side sliding door flew open and wouldn't shut!

We drove it right back up there, and they were very rude about fixing the door. Then, 3 days later, I was driving down I-20 with my 2 young children in the van with me, and the axle broke in two! I called Don Davis and they were very rude to me and told me it was my problem and I that it was not covered on my warranty to get the axle fixed.

I was LIVID, to say the least. Especially since my in-laws, and my husband and me, had purchased 7 vehicles from them in the past. I went up there to talk to the manager, and was treated like someone with an infectious disease. $3,000 in repairs and two years later, it was sitting in our driveway not running at all, had 3 mechanics tell us it would never run, so we finally had the bank come and pick up the d**n van. Ruined our credit, after all we had been thru.

In regard to Buz Post, they let me drive a Rodeo off the lot and keep it for 14 days, telling me the paperwork was done and to come in on a certain day to sign the final papers. When I had not heard from them in almost 2 weeks, I went up there, and the salesman completely dodged me. Someone else waited on me, and told me that I could not keep the Rodeo...sorry.

I went to the manager and was given the run-around. They lost any future business of mine, and also my parents, who had bought 2 vehicles from Buz Post before. They are crooks, just like Don Davis! Let's do something about it! Let me know, and I'M READY!!!

There is NO 3 day rule!! VERY COMMON misperception

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 03, 2004

THis is a VERY COMMON misperception...read it again and again....there is NO, repeat NO, three day right of refusal law in this type of transaction. Just is case you didn't see that, let me repeat: there is NO, repeat NO, three day right of refusal law in this type of transaction.

The ONLY time such a right exists is when the sale is done at a location other than the office of the seller. For example, the pots and pans salesman comes to your house as a door-to-door salesman. You agree to buy but you have THREE DAYS to change your mind.

There is another very common misperception...if you owe a debt, as long as you're paying something on it no matter how small, they cannot sue you. That's also industrial strength BS.
They can sue you at any time even if you've paid 99% of the money due! When you owe somebody money, as long as you owe it, they can sue you to get it.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Don't let 'em screw you

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 30, 2004

I would suggest you contact your financial institution, tell them what happened, and have them cancel the payment to them. I do believe you have a 3 day period in which you can cancel any kind of sales contract, and if it's not too late, tell them that you are cancelling the deal, and remind them of the three day cancellation window.

Look up the Texas lemon law, and I think you'll find that law useful too. If all else fails, contact KXAS TV's consumer protection reporter (I think it's Becky Oliver) and tell her what's happened. They might run with a story on them(provided Buz Post isn't spending a lot of money on them for tv ads)..... point is, be as nasty with them as they are with you, and don't back down.

I've had a situation here in Ok City with Norman Chrysler Jeep Dodge trying to screw me on a used car to the tune of $4000, so I know the kind of aggevation you're going through. Hope this helps.
