C N Brown company love to threaten consumers st.johnsbury, Vermont

The winter of 2010 I purchased and pre -payed 100 gallons of heating oil from C N Brown and when it was delivered to my house the driver was drunk and he fell asleep when he was pumping the oil in the tank and went over the 100 gallons I ordered by another 50 gal. When he finally came to my door he smelled of alcohol and when he told me he gave me too much oil he told me its my problem.

I called the office in my town and told them what had just happened and they charged me for the extra 50 gallons plus the 100 I had already paid for! I told them that I wasn't going to pay because it wasn't my fault and they will have to get the money from the driver who delivered the oil or reclaim the oil that was extra. They did neither of the two and started sending bills ; I was ignoring the bills up until a couple of weeks ago when I received a letter and a phone call from a bill collector telling me that if I didn't pay the full amount of the 150 gallons that was delivered C N Brown would take me to court. I called the office in my town and asked them about the lawsuit threat the manager told me that they were not involved with the threat and he just wanted his money.

I put in a pellet furnace and was left with 3/4 of a tank of oil so I offered all of it to them but they said no because they couldn't get a driver out to my house. I live less than a mile away from the office and in the middle of town! And they cant get someone to my house, what a lame excuse...well I finally took a page from their book and threatened to take them to court and call the BBB in my state ; they backed off and I haven't heard a thing from them.

I guess I called them out on their scam they were trying to pull on me and I'm glad I didn't back down. I also found out that the drunk driver was let go, our streets and wallets will be a little safer with out him delivering oil drunk.
