I received a letter in the mail from this company to become a Secret Shopper. I have tried many times to be able to become a Secret Shopper, so I was excited. I then googled the company because I thought it was strange that there was no return address on the envelope and inside was a rather large check for over $2,000. That's when I saw Rip Off Report and someone described my situation to a tee! I then called the bank (Huntington) that the check was supposedly issued from. They at first were confused, because all the numbers at the bottom (tracking #, check #, etc.) all sounded legitimate. But the customer service person took a step further and somehow discovered it was indeed a bogus check. They then asked me to fax them the check. Thank you Ripoff Report!!!!

I received a check and a letter in the mail regarding a Secret Shopper position. The letter was from Consumer Affair Group Inc. In this letter is gave instructions on disburstment of the $ 1995.75 check they enclosed.
200.00 is my pay
50.00 goes to walmart. and a receipt is requred.
1595.75 goes to western union. Transfer reference number and receipt required. There is a 100.00 transfer free so the total would be 1695.75
50.00 goses to JCPenny and a receipt is required for that.
They gave a company address of 7700 Lonsdale Avenue, Markham ON T0H 3V0.

I guess there is nothing that can be done about this because they are on a different Continent. But people please be aware of this. They will use all kinds of names and angles
