I recently applied for C-1 truck driver training in Indianapolis, In through drivers Solutions. The school is totally misrepresented on the internet and by the career counselor that is assigned to you.The internet says it is a three week course but it isnt at all. Week 1 is all about taking written tests and learning about logging and map planning and about 4 more classes of things you neeed to know. You wont even touch a truck till Monday of the second week.

Like one other person had said, You stand outside on hard pavement waiting a lot. I was in the middle of my third week and I had done a little bit on the range, backing up and parrallel parking and I had only been out driving on the road for a total time of 1 hour and 45 minutes which comes out to be around 105 minutes on the road. You cant even try for your CDL license till the instructors feel you are ready to take the roads test or range test.

In the middle of week 3 on Tuesday the range instructor says to me, Mike I am going to test you and 4 others on the range today. Well needless to say that never happened. On Tuesday I got to do Nothing towards getting my CDL license. You have three things that you have to pass at the school before you can test for the school  and go down to the CDL examiner. The first thing is you have to memorize the Pre-trip inspection, the second thing is you have to pass the range two times out of three attempts, and finally you have to have the road time in and be able to safely drive the truck down the road.

Thats all fine and good, But you dont get hardly any time in the trucks. When I was there, their were People there that were in their 4th or 5th week and had not went to take the CDL test for the state yet. And they represent this school as a Three week course. And If your set to drive for PAM trucking really beware!!! They tell you that everything is good on your application and they get you to the school. Then they let you get through the first week and drop you like bad potato. If you get dropped by the company that hired you. You are responsible for making the payments on the training.

The fees are your cost to get up to Indianapolis,The school Cost, Food costs,Lodging, drug screen and the cost of the physical. And your responsible for all of this even if you dont get your CDL license in the end. My MOM passed away the In the Middle of the third week and I had to leave in the Middle of the night. So I checked out of the hotel and went to be with my family. I called the school as soon as I was able to, To let them know that I had a death in the family and I was coming back as soon as I can. There reply was thats no excuse and you should of  called us sooner. as you all know that family is always more important.

On the flip side of that.even Without  my MOM passing away. The school was no where near letting me finish the so called 3 week course. I only brought enough money and food and Medicine for three weeks. I would Of had to go back home on Friday of week three anyway. If you decide to go through with going to this school.
Be aware of this information here. Plan on staying longer than the time represented.Make sure you bring enough clothes,Medicine, vitamins, money etc.. for at least 5 weeks. Plan on standing on the range alot and not being in the truck driving much. In recap my three weeks at C-1 truck driving school was totally a waste of time.

1)waste of money to get there.

2)waste of your time.

I drove 2 times on the road in three weeks.I drove the last time on Thursday of the second week and then i had not been in the truck driving for 6 days. Friday,Saturday,Sunday,Monday,Tuesday had all passed and I had not been out driving at all during any of those days. The Question I have Is how are you suppost to learn to drive a semi truck if you dont get to drive one. I have called them Two times about returning to the school to finish up and they wont return my calls.

I have Applied to another company for training and when they call C-1. C-1 tells the other company that I failed out when I didnt. I passed everything, All state tests I passed the first week very first time,The training written test
I passed all of them with an high A grade and I was ready to test on the range! I hope that this really helps someone out that is planning on going to this school. I wouldnt do It again...BEWARE...
