Star Communications, Family Fun Pass, 1/2 Price TV ripoff, dishonest debits from my account and won't send me my money back. They wouldn't let me cancel until I received my package which wasn;t what they said it was. Kept debiting my account even after the gave me cancellation number's and told me I had to write to get refunded. Wrote e-mail with no reply. Say they don't have corp. phone number but prev. said I'd get all money back. Bank won't help me. Ripoff Topanga Canyon Blvdcanoga Park California

I'm another victim that was only supposed to cost me $4.95. Has now added up to $340.00. They said they were Charter Communications (who I would normally trust). Very professional and believable.

Took over a month to receive something from family fun pass which I didn't want but they wouldn't cancel until I received a package. In that month I talked to any one I could get in touch with to stop all the debits they tried to take from my account. Since I had authorized the 4.95, my bank, nor check fraud could help me.

I finally talked to someone who gave me canellation #'s but said I had to write to get me my refund! Now before this I was told I would get all my money back. All the 1-800 #'s for these companies say they don't have the number to the corporate office in Canoga Park! But there is a 1-800 number that was with my "package" but all I get is a runaround from everyone. I emailed that I wanted my refund but they have not responded.

They bank with Wachovia, I wonder how Wachovia feels about taking our money.

though i have not been ripped off by this company i have been with others and Wachovia has always handled it fine. You need to call i 8000 wachovia, they will immediatly give you "provisional credit" while it is under investigation, then they will send you papers you need to fill out.i have even authorized the charge then canceled and had product not shipped but my card charged and Wachovia still took care of it and gave back the 260 in overdraft charges that resulted from the charge, they have ALWAYS been very helpful.unless this is something that is done repeatedly or your account is not in good standing,i do not understand why you would have a problem,or you are trying to handle it thru your local branch.you need to call the 800 #.hope things work out

Never ever give your
-personal info (DOB, SSN, etc.)
-checking account #
-credit card account #
to ANYBODY who is calling you - however familiar are you with the name of the company/agency etc. the caller CLAIMS to be from.
Beside scammers, there are plenty of ID thives around.

If you get a call, request the info in writing, or ask for a number to call back. ANY legitimate company will understand your privacy concerns. Something else: this way you have the necessary "cool off " period, to research the offer or simply to rethink the "brilliant" offer.

There was nothing professional and believable in that call. Why would ANY company give you $500 worth of gift but being so cheap requesting $4.75 S&H? (But yes, they ARE professional scammers.)

If you DO really belive in the generosity of for- profit companies and you DO want to give a try, ask ONE question from the caller: do you accept MONEY ORDER for the S&H? All the scammers will hang up immediately.

Meanwhile I would recommend to close your checking account - there is no way to predict WHEN and under WHAT name will they charge you again.
