I had a business account with Cablevision.I sold the business,and called for disconnection on Jan 12, 2009.They said service would stop Jan 15th,and they would pick up their equipment (2 boxes & 1 modem) on Jan,16.

The service did not shut off on Jan 15, nor did they show up for the equipment on Jan 16.I called to ask why.They explained that a new store owner called on Jan 15 for new service, and they would be installing him Monday, Jan 19.I asked what that had to do with MY request for shut off & pick up,They said 'They cancelled it, and it would be done on the 19th at new customers installation.'...and advised me that I was now responsible for service until the 19th, and the $700 worth of equipment if its not at the location on the 19th!

Today is Jan 21,2009.As I am told-they went to the location in Bellmore to install the new customer on Jan 19,and the techs REFUSED to take my equipment! The phone number is still working that I had at that location.I have called everyday requesting they pick up equipment.I explained that I no longer had access to the premises since the day they were supposed to originally come (Jan 16), that I never cancelled my appointments, and I refuse to be responsible for the service and equipment after my requested disconnection date of Jan 15.

Not only have they NOT returned ANY of my calls for 5 days...no tech has gone to pick up boxes, the phone is still active, and now my bill is reflecting $700 for equipment PLUS service charges until Jan 25! (did I mention today is the 21st)

I called like I was supposed to on Jan 12-requested disconnection the 15th, and left town on the 16th thinking this was all resolved.What gave Cablevision the right to cancel my request for termintaion, cancel my appointment, and charge me past the 15th!
