I recently called into Cablevision because I got a postcard advertising $79.95 for two years.     When I called, they informed me that this promo was only for 1 free dvr.  I needed 3, so I declined the offer.

The next day or so, I
got a call from "chris" offering a package of 3 DVRS, Sports package, Kindle and a couple of movie channels  - all for $107 for two years and no contract.

His selling point was the fact that with 3 dVR's, you could record three separate shows from each TV.

After asking a ton of questions, and also reaffirming the deal with Chris (866-663-5658 x5059),
I took the deal.

Four days later, the tech came out and did the install.  When it was time to hook up the boxes, there was only 1 DVR, and 2 Reg boxes.  What??  I was assured by the tech, that it must have been just a simple screw-up, and that they will probably mail out the DVR's later.

I wanted to get to the bottom of this, so I called Chris, and he was not in.  I spoke to at least 3 customer service people and 3 managers, I really can't remember the number of times I told the story.  Bottom-line, I was told that there is no promo like this, and that I was wrong.

First of all, I was perfectly happy with the FIOS service I had.  I had the FIOS multi-room dvr, so my family could record/watch from any room.  The only reason I switched to Cablevision was b/c of price.

Why would I downgrade to only 1 DVR?  I definitely needed 3, and I was told by Chris that I would get 3 DVR's because they did not have the multi-room DVR system at Cablevision.

Finally I asked to hear the recorded conversation between me and chris.  They came back saying that the "managers" heard the recording, and that Chris did not say that.  Baloney!!!  I remember what we talked about, and he definitely told me that I would get 3 DVRs!   Why would I settle for 1 DVR, when clearly refused the initial 1 DVR offer?

I asked to hear the recording myself, and they refused to let me listen to it.  I asked them "who" exactly listened to this conversation?  They said the sales department.  Huh?  The sales department polices themselves?  How about that!  What a ridiculous system.

In the end, I now need to port my number back to verizon, and send another tech to undo all the cablevision installs.  My wife and I had a huge argument because of this fiasco and I wasted hours between the installs and phone conversations.

Cablevision's sales people are not to be trusted!
