My husband, my baby, and I came Cacus Jacks on Bell Rd. to purchase a vehicle in the beginning of July. We purchased a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. We did not know when leaving with the vehicle that we had purchased, that it was unsafe to drive. Within the next couple weeks of us having the vehicle, we have put about $2000 dollers worth of work into it. We live out on 163rd ave. and Grand in Surprise, we we use it for transportation to work, and other errands in town. So the warranty of 500 miles had already run out within the first week. Mario (sales guy) told us the extended warranty was not worth anything so not to get it. A tire blew on me driving down the 303 with my son in the vehicle. I took the suv to discount tire, and they told me they couldn't believe I was driving on those tires. They were all dry rotted with separation in between all of the tire's treads. That was the first of many problems. I was told that certain things were already taken care of before we purchased the vehicle. I was told the suv was reconditioned in February of 2007. Randy (service manager) also stated to me in that same conversation, that the vehicle was sitting since Feb. 07' and that Cactus Jacks is not responsible for the normal wear and tear on the suv from the weather since it had been sitting. Now, for one, they are responsible to sell a safe vehicle. For two, certain things that were wrong, were not "weather damaged". Randy stated to me that the car had been broken into. We were not made aware of that. My husband and I specifically asked for a car fax report, which we never recieved. Mario, our sales guy told us the visor was missing because of cigarrette burn damage. He said he would get us a visor, which he never did. Mario also told us that the vehicle had automatic door locks. Come to find out, it does have automatic door locks, but only for 3 doors. The front driver side is inoperable because of the vehicle being broken into. So for the first few weeks we had the jeep, we thought the doors were locked, leaving personal items in there. The back driver side window does not operate either. When I talked to Randy on the phone, he said the rear axel seal was already taken care of before we bought the vehicle. Now, if it was, then why was it leaking again? Literally oil was all over our rotors and it was making a strange sound. That's not even including needing a new water pump, because the jeep was overheating constantly. There are many issues here and my husband and I were willing to discuss some type of compromise before further action was taken. When I got a call back from Minnie from Cactus Jack's after I sent in a fax of all the reciepts of work done on the vehicle that Randy requested, she told me that there was nothing she could do, no reimbursements, and they would not lower the price of the vehicle. Last I talked to Randy he told me the same situation happened with an older woman who bought a Nissan Altima from them. Her transmission blew less than a month after she bought the vehicle, and they told her tough luck! I told him that to me, it sounds like Cactus Jacks is selling a bunch of band-aided vehicles. I HAVE ALL MY RECIEPTS FOR THE WORK DONE! Something needs to be done and apparently, I'm not the only one. Cactus Jacks has more than a few bad reports on the BBB report. What I cannot believe even more is that they sell vehicles that are unsafe to even drive off the LOT! I had my kid in that vehicle driving it off the lot and the salesperson and everyone else there knew it. I'm just glad that while it blew on me driving down the 303 that nothing else worse happened, especially since I had my son with me.

So I file a complaint with BBB. Less than a week later, they repoed my vehicle, no late payment nothing. They took it while I was at a bank with my son pulling out money to pay rent. They left me with no diaper bag, no formula, no diapers, no way outta there in 115 degree heat!!!!!! How can they repo a vehicle without even sending me a letter??????? Now we are out $5000 on the vehicle, and it's just gone. NEVER EVER EVER buy a vehicle from Cactus Jacks. It is the worst place ever. I have sent this report also to every news channel I can, the BBB, and every place I can on the web. Please, I'm actually begging you, if you are going to buy a car from Cactus Jacks - don't!!! It is the worst descision you will ever make....

What ever happened?

AUTHOR: Angrycarbuyer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 24, 2008

I also recently filed a BBB report on Cactus Jack's in Mesa... And a rip off report just last week. I'm still paying on the loan to Chicago Lenders, though I cannot drive my car..

Did you ever find out legally what you could do about them taking your car back? How can they reposess a car when you are making the payments? I'm just curious whatever happened and if I should worry about them taking my car. I've sunk a lot of money into it, over 8k in the last year in payments and repairs. I don't want them to take it back unless they release me from the loan.

Any additional information you have on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
