In September we contracted with a Cactus Wi-Fi to install a 'hot spot' that would cost $4500. It was promised to be installed in 2-3 weeks.

The installation never worked. The office, hard-wired, was functional - but the promised wifi hot spot was a dismal disappointment from the beginning.

We called the second company named on the business card and requested assistance. They promised they would assist us in getting the system underway. But they had no one they could send to assist with the installation of the system.

Finally, they agreed to send someone out -- but this so-called 'installation person' was a no-show from the beginning. He would contact us , talk about coming and then stop in mid-call to take another call, never coming back on the line. He was suggesting we pay hundreds more for him to complete the work never handled by Cactus Wifi.

Finally, he agreed to come - for another $450.00. The first time he didn't show up at all. Then he calleod and said he HAD come, but that he was here in the middle of the night and couldn't reach us and could not find a hotel room.

He offered to try to come again. We said, "We will find quarters for you - we have motor homes and RVs on the lot [sales lot] and the office is heated, we can always open the office for you. In other words, we planned to do everything we could to accommodate him.

He didn't say a word about this comment - pro or con. But I immediately received a call from Phil Hahn of Omni-Wifi who contacted me to say his installation man was now refusing to come at all.

These people are the most unprofessional I've ever seen. They take advantage, promise the moon and sell things they can't service and then leave the customer holding the bag.

Buyer Beware!! If you are doing business with a company that promises Internet access OR hot spot installation, check them out FIRST. We are $4500 into a system that will likely NEVER function unless we find someone capable of installing it correctly. It's been an expensive nightmare.

I was also ripped off by OMNI wifi

AUTHOR: Bob - ()

POSTED: Thursday, May 16, 2013

I bought a Park Camp spot from OMNI wifi. When I received it and un boxed it, I quickly noticed it was used. I called Phil and he said "Dont worry it has the same warrenty!" I have tried for almost 2 years to get his cheap junk to work. Even his sales rep in the area who came out to work on ig said its not very good stuff and for the money there is much better stuff out there. He said out of all the stuff he sells OMNI has not been very good and with all the trouble I have had and he has had he was no longer going to be a part of selling OMNI products. Long story short. I have had to give up on trying to get Phil's products to work. After $1700 spent I have nothing to show for it. You want to know what Phil's last words were to me before hanging up? "You got your monies worth!"....Really Phil? I had to buy all new equipment from another company! The only one here who got their monies worth is OMNI wifi. They sell cheap junk for an extreme amount of money stating they are the best in the industry. Well they are the best in the industry. They just did not clarify it was for scamming people! Buyer Beware!!!!

OMNI-WiFi has the best Access Points

AUTHOR: Da - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 26, 2009

As a reseller of OMNI-WiFi haven been in the reseller business since the mid 80's I will say OMNI-WiFi provides us support second to none.
From what I read on this complaint Cactus seems to be the one at fault here. Not OMNI-WiFi
Having been a reseller of computer/networking equipment since the mid 80's OMNI-WiFi in our eyes makes the best access point available on the market today with support to match.

OMNI-WiFi is a great company

AUTHOR: Paul D - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 10, 2009

I have worked with OMNI-WiFi for 4 years and can say that they should not have been mentioned in this situation. We have placed dozens of these products and have had support above and beyond the call of duty every time. I wish all Manufacturers cared as much as OMNI-WiFi does about the way their products are handled.

Omni-Wifi is not a ripoff by any strech!

AUTHOR: Gideon - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 09, 2009

My name is Gideon Belete with GBE-Wifi. I am reading this post with utter shock because my experience with Omni-Wifi has been nothing short of professionalism. I am a reseller of theirs, but they are very supportive to my high demanding clients of New York City.

I would be very angry if I had spent $4500 and had nothing to show for it, but there are thousands of these Wifi's hotspot set up and having inspected many of them......this posting does not reflect the company. Please have these people remove this posting.

OMNI-WIFI not to blame for sub contractor installation....

AUTHOR: Jons Electronics - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 17, 2008

As an authorized seller and installer for OMNI-WIFI (not an employee, private company), I can attest to the fact that Mr. Philip Hahn is dedicated to his product and providing support for it. The sad fact is, the person who approached you regarding your install was very unprofessional. I have installed OMNI HotelSpots and they are absolutely wonderful! The installer probably was buying the equipment from OMNI, and it is up to the consumer to research the credentials of that installer. You want to make sure your installer is licensed and insured, and don't be afraid to ask for references! (Previous clients, trade school, etc.) Unfortunately, you don't live in my area or I would personally install your system myself at a discount for your inconvenience as to uphold the OMNI-WIFI name. If you already have your equipment, I would suggest finding a reputable computer network company in your area to do your installation.

Sincerely,
Jon Stewart
