Well, here we go again. California Coast Credit Union has seen fit to charge me not once, but twice for a $4.00 overdraft. This means that instead of them covering the measly $4.00, I am now out well over $50 ($27 x 2 + $2 per day for at least two days).

Is this not precisely the kind of scumbaggery congress just passed a law against? I despise this bank because they have done this to me before. Not only that, but they continue to keep me restricted to a "starter account" because of an innocent overdraft that put me in ChexSystems after I closed an account years ago. Although I ended up paying nearly $300 for that $25 overdraft with the promise from the collection agency that I would be removed from ChexSystems, they obviously lied and I am still in there.

Ironically, it is the $7 they charge me every month for keeping the account open that put me over the $4 triggering not one but two $27 overdraft fees, and then continue to charge me $2 per day until I became aware of the error. This is nothing less than sanctioned robbery, and another abusive practice they seem to think they can get away with along with charging me to simply check my balance on an out of network ATM.

This is the start of my personal campaign to eradicate abusive practices that cost me and people like me billions of dollars per year. Anyone with similar experiences please comment. Maybe locally we can get some news coverage and get some momentum behind this issue.
