These companies all lure the customers in with the same low price gimmick. then as soon as the order is placed you recieve a call with a guy who tries to upsell you on other over priced items to compliment or add to your purchase. If you refuse all the offers you are presented with of course the call is ended. as soon as your call is over, you are sent an email stating that your item was ordered but is on back order and you aren't given even an estimated time that the order will be filled.

When you call to check the order the answer is always 2 weeks. when you try to ask to speak to a supervisor the punk kids they have answering the phone will either get smart with you and hang up on you or refuse to let you speak to a manager. I had one today agree to put me through to one after I told him he purposely cut me off and had better not try it again or i'd get really ugly with him when I called back and I would call back , (i am nothing if not tenacious). He placed me on hold and just left me there for 20 minutes before picking up the reciever and hanging up on me again.

I called sales livid about being cut off and went off on the sales guy over it because at this point I had been cut off 3 times and my wife was cut off once also while trying to call from work. The sales guy gave me the extension of the department (7)and told me to speak to Rachel (this is 86th st) my wife had verified that they did in fact have the Canon S5 IS that we had ordered in stock now.

Finally SOME good news. Rachel gave me the song and dance that they did infact NOT have that camera in stock. she stated that the camera we ordered only comes with a 20 minute battery the one they have in stock has a 2 hour battery and I could purchase it for $420.00 if i wanted to or wait till the others came in. I have to give the b***h credit, she was d**n convincing about lying on the spot and came up with an almost believable story. so much so that I actually had to call canon to check the power sources myself.

As I thought (and here's the DOH moment) the cameras only come with one type of batteries, you can use either AA or rechargable AA batteries but it takes 4 of them. Just for arguements sake I asked the guy at canon if they had an addon battery pack that might be an accessory that cost the extra $100.00 he said that there was only one S5 IS model and no accessory or other battery would make it cost any more than the initial price.

So now not only were they jerking us around about the camera but they blatantly lied to us. What do we expect the place is in Brooklyn NY one of the heaviest crime ridden places on earth. My Wife had me cancel that order and then found another site with a similarly lower price on this camera. Big surprise the contact address was also in brooklyn, all were within a block or two of each other, then I looked at all the others that were mentioned on here which practice the same methods and modes of doing business. they are all on 86th st, 89th st or somewhere in between which tells me everything I needed to know about every one of them.

It goes back to the old saying if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is , in this case again the old saying comes to mind "DUH"!!!! luckily they didn't get anything of mine but my time and frustrations. now if they suddenly try to charge my card they are going to get a little more than they bargain for. I already reported them and their practices to the better business bureau in NY and i'm not above going to the police or the city and state of New York courts with this one either.

best to just stay away in the first place though , and tell all of your friends to check out this site before they make any major purchases. The information on here would have been really handy before my making an attempt at a purchase with these idiots.
