Camp Smarter, Inc campsmarter Said They'd Refund My Money Soon Menifee, California

I placed an order for two high-tech keyring Energizer flashlights at www.campsmarter.com on December 30, 2010.  I had paid using Paypal with the understanding that the items I wanted were on back order or not currently in stock.  I took my chances anyway and placed my order.  After a week and a half went by I hadn't heard back from the company regarding updates to my order so I decided I wanted to cancel the order instead of waiting.  I didn't like not knowing when or even if the company would ever get these flashlights in stock so I called Customer Service and a man answered the phone.  It was just about closing time, the man said, and most everyone had already left for the day.  But he said he could still take my order information and leave a message for me for the staff.   I said great!  So the man took my name and order information.  

A few more days went by and I hadn't heard from the company so I wrote an email to their Customer Service Department.  I requested them to cancel my order.  I mentioned I had called a few days earlier.   I received a reply on January 14, 2011 by email from Aimee Zimmerman in the Customer Service Department.  The email said "We have received your cancellation and are still processing.  I apologize for the delay.  We will get your money to you soon.  Thank you.  Aimee Zimmerman Customer Service."

More than three weeks went by.  On February 8, 2011 I still hadn't heard back from campsmarter.com nor received a refund credit to my Paypal account.   So I filed a claim with Paypal for Item Not Received and also emailed Customer Service again at campsmarter.com saying it had been more than three weeks that I'd been waiting for my refund.  

Today is (02/11/2011) and I still haven't heard from www.campsmarter.com nor Paypal as of yet.   My Paypal claim says Paypal is waiting to hear back from the campsmarter.com.  I also noticed recently that campsmarter.com totally deleted my order information on their website!  So I'm just waiting now to hear back from Paypal.  Paypal is giving till February 18, 2010 for the seller to reply.  What a headache this all is - just to get $21 dollars back!  

I decided to leave this review to warn other people not to place orders with campsmarter.com for items that are back-ordered or special order.   If you'd like to read other reviews about that company you can find quite a few reviews at bizrate.com using the search term:  campsmarter.com   Bizrate.com currently states (as of today - 02/11/2011) that they have over 250 reviews regarding campsmarter.com and the overall score is just above "poor".
