We recently purchased 2 RV's from Camping World, Draper Ut.  They were six months apart 0ne was a 2007 and the other a 2012. Both times they charged me for a fabric protection warrenty on both used trailers.  It was $2,125.00 both times then they added on tire protection for  $1800 for one trailer and $2100 for the second trailer.  Tire pro is for getting a flat tire they come out and fix it.  Plus Good Sam for $1200 for the first one and $1000 for the second one, saying these were refundable if we sold the trailers. So for the Grand Total of $10,350 Dollars they pocketed.  They tell me the fabric pro will save my couches, why would I put fabric pro on a 2007 and 2012  trailer.  That I know they didn't put on I know what it smells like                                                                                                                                                  So I recently had back surgery. the steps in the trailer are to tall  going from one leval to another ther should be three instead of two.  I called the dealership and told them the problem they said sure we will work out a deal.  so they call me back and tell me I need $8000 dollars. They were giving me $22,000 for a trailer they charged me $35,000 six months ago.     So I started investigating my contract and discovered these ADDONS as the bank told me, and they were LOW Balling me as the bank told me.  They told me the trailer should be worth $35,000 .  I have been dealing with these guys for months, they keep telling me they will get back with me. So in closing always check your documents I didn't I trusted these guys, never again.

Camping World Extended Warranty Add-on

AUTHOR: Unhappy Consumer - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, July 31, 2017

My husband and I purchased our motor home from Camping World Idaho Falls.  I feel that we have expereinced a similar situation.

During the finance session there was way to much chit chat.  The Finance Manager began to tell us about the extended warranty plans.  We have never purhased them on vehicles.  He began with the first option then moved on to the second.  I stopped him and specifically said that I did not intend to pay any more money.  At that point he told me the charge was  $538 or some such.  More chit chat, more discussion of gift cards.

To make a long story short.  We had been in the office way to long.  We simply wanted to get home.  We signed the papers....

Thnking things over on the drive home, I thought "Wait One Minute."  These numbers don't add up.  I found that we had almost $10,000.00 in additional charges for tires, interior , exterior, maintenance.

I immediately called  the store.  I could not get a single person other than the receptionist to talk to me about the problem.  I tried the sales person, the finance manager and the general manager.  I expleained the situation to the receiptionist telling her I would come back immediatley to have my contract changed.  This was the very same day.

Finally at closing time, I was able to get the saleman to answer my call on his cell phone.  He  said he would meet my husband and I the following Tuesday at the facility.  At this time he was again, courteous.  His comment was, 'I'm sorry, there must have been a problem with our communication."  "All I can do is credit the Maintenance and  Travel Assistance."

I asked why not the Tire and Wheel Protection, or the Paint Protection?"   His response was that the Interior and Exterior protection had already been done and we had driven the vehicle which would not let him credit the tire and wheel protection.  I have doubt that this was ever done as there is normally a distinct smell and feel when the interior  has had the protectant freshly applied.

Additionally, our motorhome experieinced an electrical problem and we are told by the facility that we can't expect parts for 4-6 weeks.  If this is standard procedure for this company this fact should be disclosed at the time of purchase.

Obvioulsy we should have really scanned the contract.  I can't beleive that I let this happen.  However, after viewing all of the similar complaints of Camping World"  nationwide, I feel that this is all "Corporate Training."  I will never purchase anything from Camping World again.  I'll voice my complaints to everyone and through any medium that I can including our local Better Business Bureau.
