Canon Inc (CAJ) Canon USA Flatbed Document Photo Scanner Worthless Frustrating Junk With No Support Customer Service Blames Consumer For Defective Electronic Goods Mellville New York

A Canon flatbed scanner was purchased while in college for my studies and to scan a few documents necessary for personal records. The LIDE series scanner seemed like a good option to replace an all-in-one machine that was not portable.

This LIDE scanner made by Canon was a piece of junk right out of the box with repeated software issues freezing up my PC. Every time this scanner is used, it has connectivity issues and has to be recalibrated with a test page. It generally requires at least an hour of frustration to scan 1-5 pages and the problems exist on four different computers indicating its not the computer blocking the port. If you are working on a form and try to print and scan your current work, suddenly the computer must be rebooted and your current work is lost due to some weird malfunction.

This scanner from Canon is the most frustrating piece of junk wasting valuable time through technical errors and other connectivity issues only to have the same failure the next time this equipment is used. Customer Service is never available and denies there is any problem with their product. Did I mention the recording at corporate states Fisher Price? Canon is based out of Tokyo Japan and a very large international company selling cheaply made garbage to consumers.

The $60+ spent on this scanner is nothing compared to the loss-of-use endured as a result of this equipment never working to any reasonable standard. Due to repeated frustration, therapy is necessary as a result of anxiety from this dysfunctional flatbed scanner… Two pieces of office equipment with the Canon logo were purchased and both of them never performed as advertised. I will not waste any more money on Cannon products and you should avoid this company too!
