I would like to find other individuals that would be interested in joining a class action lawsuit.

It is discerning that following four years of study, one hundred thousand dollars in student loans, and having a very good academic record, that I am dropped and told I am inadequate to complete the program. It seems that if I were not prepared to pass the exam that I should have been advised by my advisors (early on) to prepare further or to not continue on! At this point, I feel that I have been “conned” out of thousands of dollars and four years of my life by acquiring student loads to earn a degree that maybe I would have never received in the first place (according to Capells).

I have reviewed the reader’s comments and take responsibility for mistakes that can be contributed to human error, however, not to lack of knowledge. I find it hard to accept other comments and basically insults that are related to my answers as being stated as “inappropriate, too much paraphrasing, strange things happening, presumably, no consideration given, wordy, ambiguous”.  So too, opinions thato strayed from what the question was asking and bringing “self- reasoning” as the right answer into the review and not that of the writer’s logic backed by scholarly literature as directed by the comp guidelines.

I was presented with three questions to answer, was not given a specific format other than a minimum and maximum pages, application of APA, and told to answer the questions. I took each question and broke it down into an outline to follow as instructed by the facilitator to answer the question. However, after reading each of the reader’s responses, it appears they each wanted something other than what the questions were asking and not as the facilitator instructed. The responses were not clear as if something else was required other than answering the questions. I have read my responses again, and again, and feel that I have more than adequately answered the questions with required scholarly support at the appropriate level for the purpose of the paper within the allotted time frame and space allowed by Capella guidelines. My understanding is the papers were not to be a literature review, a proposal, nor a dissertation, but to answer the questions…so the levels of research would not be the same.

Furthermore, the third question was not based on my topic selection nor was my academic plan considered. It appears that the facilitator pulled a topic that he was familiar with and developed a question “out of the blue” and tried to tell me that it was connected to workforce readiness and adult learning styles. Leadership is not, but a separate topic on its own and is under a separate Capella graduate degree program. However, as a good scholar, I did take the question and tried to pull together information to answer the question with the only scholarly literature within the databases that were of not much substance. If I had the right tools to work with (graduate level leadership textbooks) that I did request from the facilitator (no response), the answer would have had more substance.

Lastly, I must reiterate, that it concerns me that I have been an A and B student and very dedicated to the process. I have received national awards on my writing outside of the academic world and I have had many academic professors within Capella tell me how well I write. Yet, Capella is failing me and has taken almost 100 thousand dollars in tuition and now telling me that I am inadequate to pass. This is not just a grade to me, but a final academic accomplishment that I have worked very hard for at my own expense! Therefore, I am requesting reconsideration of the NS based on capricious grading that is subjective, unfounded, and simply wrong and unacceptable.

As I have discussed with several members of the dissertation committee, I am quite dismayed following the second attempt at passing the comprehensive exam. It is discerning that following four years of study, one hundred thousand dollars in student loans, and having a very good academic record, that I am dropped and told I am inadequate to complete the program. I have reviewed the exam reader’s comments over and over, even sent results to a professor from another leading university who teaches doctoral students and who states that there was not any reason for me to not pass - or either try!

I take responsibility for mistakes that can be contributed to human error, however, not to lack of knowledge. I find it hard to accept readers comments and basically insults that are related to my answers as being stated as “inappropriate, too much paraphrasing, strange things happening, presumably, no consideration given, wordy, ambiguous”.  So too, reader opinions that strayed from the exam question with the reader's opinion as the right answer and not that of the writer’s logic backed by scholarly literature as directed by the comprehensive exam facilitator.

I don't exactly have a rebuttal but I want to knwo more about this report! I went to Capella for three years and got down to my last three Doctoral classes and was told I did not have enough financial aid to finish.

I asked why I was not told that prior to and I was never given a good answer. I paid off my last tuition payment so I thought, and was hit with a 6000 bill to finish my doctorate program! I am really upset and trying to raise funds to graduate.

I don't know what to do. Please send any information you can if you see this post. thanks Caribqueen58 but I live in California.
