Capital Acquisitions & Management Company Used 15 year old paid account and attemted to extort money from me. Rockford Illinois

I received a letter from CAMCO where they informed me that they had acquired a debt from Bank of America. I called the company to discuss the accusation that I owed them money from a 15 year old debt.

When I asked for some evidence that I owed this debt they told me thier was no evidence but they had a notarized affidavit which said I owed this amount of money. They could not give me any information about the debt except the amount owed and an affidavit.

I had been contacted by them two years ago with a similar claim but was bullied into paying because they were threatening to put this make belief debt on my credit report. I told them that they would not extort money from me again without some kind of evidence. They said that I did not have to pay, because they were not forcing me they would just ruine my credit.

When I mentioned that I was a member of the Armed services they transferred me to a different representative who was authorized to cut me a speacial deal. While I was on hold I looked through my old files and found a letter that stated that the debt was paid in full. When I told the gentleman he almost accused me of lying, insinuating that I was making it up.

I argued with them for 45 minutes long distance from overseas just to find out that everything they had been saying was a lie and I could have paid for the same debt that had already been settled years ago.

DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE UNTIL THEY GIVE YOU SOME HARD EVIDENCE! If I hadn't started saving all of my bills 5 years ago they would have gotten me again.
