I reported to you on July 30th, 2002 that I had cancelled all accounts and activity with Capital First Credit Card. The account was to receive a credit card from them in the mail.

I called Capital First and cancelled my account with them and made them verify that the account was cancelled and that no monies would be drafted from my bank account. It was reported to me on Tuesday July 30th, by Capital First Credit Card that my account had been cancelled, that no credit card would be sent to me and that no transactions would be withdrawn from my bank account. The confirmation of this Cancellation is #207156151. I called back later that day and was told that my account was closed.

The next day July 31st, 2002 I called again and asked what was the status of my account. A representative told me that there had been a request to cancel my account. I informed her that it was not merely a request but that the account had indeed been cancelled. She told me that was not the case and that the cancellation was still being processed I asked if a transaction had been withdrawn from my bank she said she did not know but that it was possible since the account was not closed. I told her to cancel my account right then and there and to give me the cancellation confirmation #. She then gave me the VERY same cancellation # that I was given the day before.

Low and behold I checked my bank statement and they had indeed went ahead and withdrawn the money from my bank. Even though I had a confirmation on July 30th 2002 that there would be no transactions from my bank account.

I called several different reps asking why they had drafted my account although my account was cancelled and I had received no service from them. Each stated well that fee is non refundable. I asked one rep what they were charging me for since I had not recieved the package that the fee was supposed to cover. She stated "well maam you authorized us to take money from your account and there is no way you can get it back." I asked her how could she charge me a fee for a service I did not receive, she just stated because I authorized her to. I then told her that, that authorization was recinded once my account with them was cancelled.

I called many reps, and got the same reply.

Today, August 5th, 2002, the day I am writing this letter I called again and asked why my account was drafted even though i received no service from them and she told me there was nothing they could do about it and that my only recourse was to write them at there corporate office and ask for a refund. She then gave me the address I already had and have listed in the "Business or Person Complained Against" column. I asked her for the phone number there at the corporate office and she told me there was no number. I called information and no such Company is listed.

Veronica and Crystal sorry to hear ya ll were got by the unsavory acts of a dispicable company. They got me to. Starting on July 1 2002. I ve lost about $ 450.00 so far and your right its the principal that counts. I filed a complaint with the Atty General in Texas.

All I had to provide to them was my bank statement and a signed affidavit that I did not authorize the withdrall of funds. That is the same as a forgery affidavit. Basicly its the same as if someone stloe your check book and wrote checks.

Your bank should be covered by the same rule and the original ammount will be returned and the bank will seek legal steps against them. I feel stupid that I fell for it I am a police officer. I got my package july 9 2002. I called and cancelled the so called "membership" on the 10 of July 2002 and was given a number of R01-071302 I truly believed that was going to be it.

THEN on July 15 2002 I was notified by my bank that I was overdrawn because of Two drafts made on July 11 2002 thae day after I called them. I called them 5 more times and recorded the phone calls with the representatives them verifing that my account was closed on the 10 of July. I now have thier names and them on tape telling me my account was closed before they took my money. Shame on them!!!

Also note that just because you recieve the package you are not a member. So you are not bound by thier rule of ARBITRATION.. What ever state your bank is in that is where the crime occured there for if the charges are filed they have to come to you. I dont know how far up the ladder you made it, but I got to Jessica in the escalation dept feel free to call her "I DO" as often as possible.

Remember in most states you can legally tape your own telephone conversations Illegal wire tapping is taping a conversation between others so you must be included in the conversation and you dont have to tell them they are being taped. I told them anyway and boy did it make them mad. By the way who is the company attorney I would love to include him in my CRIMINAL/CIVIL SUIT good luck .....

I am sorry to hear this also happened to you. I would tell you to close your bank account, but you have probably already read that in all the reports.

I have never heard of anyone getting their money (including me) and I have also filed every complaint to anyone I could, and still.....nothing. I have even contacted the lawyers that represent Capital First, and still ......nothing!!!

I have called the customere service people everyday since, April 17th, 2002.....and it is now August 6th, 2002......So I am assuming that noone will ever see their money again.....I have 23 pages of people (and their rep #'s) of whom I have talked with, and what they have told me....I get no where.

I am a stay at home mom, so I call them everyday, at least twice aday, I told them I have all the time in the world to bug them.....I never ever get the same story. I have added up the time I have spent on the phone with them, it is around 82 hours, and the money I have spent on sending them things back, and certifide letters, and duplicate bank statements (after they say they haven't received the first 4)it is around 400 and some dollars (which my husband thinks I am nuts) but it is not the money anymore, it is that they are taking money from honest people ......it is really crazy that in todays world that there are people who can get away with this. You would think after all the complaints that something would be done!!!

And as for their so called "CORPRATE" office (which is a rented mailbox from MAILBOXES ETC.) I have come to realize, there is no office........if there is anything anyone can do to stop this CROOKED company....Please let us know. Here is the name of the lawyer that represents CAPITAL FIRST, I have talked with 2 or 3 times now, he says I will get my money back, but after 4 months, I have realized I won't.
