In early August of this year, I was contacted by Giselle a rep for this ripoff company (Capital First Benefits) and after I listened to her, I agreed to look at the packet for $29.95, which they promptly took out of my account; then on August 29, 2002, my account shows $59.95 & $99.95 missing from it, so I wait until I am able to call at 0800 on August 30, 2002, and talk to a rep who ask for all kinds of info to verify who I am.

I inform her that I want this to be cancelled and I ask why was this money taken out of my account and she politely tells me that it's because of the packet I received and agreed to; now keep in mind that I never received a packet and had not agreed to anything but to look at the packet and they on their own decided to take $159.90 out of my account and how they did it, I don't know, as I never authorized this to happen.

She continues to give me this spill about how it can help your credit and you can use the card for anything. I still told her to cancel..So I ask her how I can get my money back, she tells me to write a detailed letter and they will give me $99.95 back, I asked about the $59.95 and she tells me that this is a one time fee..They should know that I am contacting a lawyer for this.

JUAN, WE DID LISTEN !

AUTHOR: Lisa - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, September 03, 2002

Juan - we did listen to the phone calls! Unfortunately we were scammed!! We were specifically told once we received the benefits package, we would have 7 days to cancel AFTER it was received.

How come most of us never received the packet and like myself had to call to find out where it was and told another one would be sent out. Before I even received the packet, my account was charged 59.95 and 99.95. Pretty low handed way to do business.

I was also told that if I accepted the packet and credit card, I could put these charges on the new credit card. Then after these charges were taken out of my checking account, a rep from Capital First told me I should have never been told that I could put these charges on my card. Plus-when the packet did arrive, there is no postmark as to when it was sent out. WHEN DOES THE 7 DAY PERIOD APPLY???

MAN---DON'T GET ME STARTED!!!! Hope you enjoy your work and really feel good about yourself.

CLOSE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT

AUTHOR: Lisa - ()

POSTED: Friday, August 30, 2002

Go to your bank and fill out a form for these charges. Let your bank know that these charges were not authorized. It will not cost you anything to do this. The only problem with trying to stop payment on further charges is that you have to know who will be taking out the charges and how much in order for your bank to stop payment.

Close your account immediately as their will be other charges deducted. I just received an unlimited phone card in the mail from one of Capital First's partners stating that they will deduct 54.90 a month in order to use this card. Fortunately I have closed my acct so they won't be deducted anything more!! Don't wait to fill out these forms.

Most banks have a 30 day policy. Plus you don't know what else will be taken out of your acct by these people. It took me four days to get back the 59.95 and 99.95 from my bank. Don't follow Capital First's rules about a refund. You will never see one from them!

STOPPING THEM

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Friday, August 30, 2002

To all those people that have just gotten involved with this rip off company, call your bank right now and have them stop payment on these payments, it will cost you 20 or 30 or even 40 dollars but it's worth it, I did it and the money will be back in my account on Tuesday, 9-3-02, at a $30.00 charge to me...So I urge you, call your institutions right now, if you are new to capital first game...

I also let my bank know of this companies behavior and what to look for on other accounts.
