To whom it may concern,

I am writing at the pinnacle of frustration. I have been the victim of a telephone scam from CapitalFirst. The representative called and gave us the lovely spiel that we try their product, which is a credit card. We were told we had a 7-day grace period from the time we received the information in the mail, if we wanted to cancel and no monies would be deducted from our account. We received the information in the mail on 08/13/2002 and the monies were deducted from our checking account on 08/14/2002.

I have called this company several times, never once allowed to speak to a supervisor. I have been charged over $120 in NSF fees from my bank and this company is making it impossible to get any money back from them. Today I received a letter from a "Hartford Auto Club" stating that as a new member they will be deducting $99 from my account as well. I never signed up or even heard of this company.

This CapitalFirst is noted to be located in Miami, Florida; however when you call the toll free number of 1-866-892-6018, they say they have no telephone number for their headquarters, you can only write them.

I am at wits end. I have surfed the web and found this company to have done this to quite a few people who are also seeking some type of recourse. I would like to know if you can assist me in finding out any information on this company that would make this fight a little easier. If there ever were a "Buyer Beware", this is the epitome of one.
