I also recieved a call from Capital First. My credit is improving and I thought they were Capital One. I repeatedly asked questions during the duration of the call, ie. what kind of mastercard is this (they did not mention the pay as you go until the verication process), is this just a one time fee (19.95), they replied yes.

Well upon recieving my packet of useless junk, I called and cancelled immediately. They gave me that same speil about we are just trying to help you rebuild your credit (with a nonexistant credit card that seems highly unlikely).

I was able to cancel after being persistant, or so I thought. However, a couple weeks later another company (pms aka premium mega saver) accessed my account for $54.90, this in turn caused a chain of nsf, etc. because I only use this account specifically for bills, and billing transactions. I called the # given to my bank and low and behold one of the numbers was capital first, it never gave the number to premium mega saver just the number to call "if you have a debit of $54.90", I thought that was odd, I tried calling that # for about four hours but only got a busy signal.

I called Capital First and the customer service rep (who refused to give her last name) told me "It wasn't us", and then went on to spew some more lies, she however gave me the company name (the one they are not affilated with, yet the customer service rep know the name of the company). I filed an complaint with the FTC, the BBB, my bank, several boards.

I am a teacher in Atlanta, Georgia (my dad also works for card services for the company that I bank with)...I'm usually very skeptical of rip-offs, but I never saw this one coming...I'm living in fear of future damages to my account. I just don't want this to happen to anyone else.
