Capital One Auto Finance is a very crooked company. Our vehicle was wrongfully repossessed. The company claimed that there were not payment arrangements in place, when there were. I documented all of the arrangements and conversations and who I spoke with and they denied it all. I am now keeping a log of dates and times and who I speak with. They identify themselves by giving inititals, (be sure to get those initials of each person that you talk with.)

I did get our vehicle back by paying an excessive amount of money that we should not have had to, bc they "lost" our payment arrangements! We have 2 accounts with them, and the car that was repoed is now current however the other car we are having the same issues with! We just made arrangements with them and depending on who you speak with depends on if the arrangment appears in their computer! They also put a payment through to a wrong account and then admitted to their mistake but wanted us to pay for a money gram instead of them putting it through to the correct account!

I refused and then they magically were able to locate the correct account number! The company is very wrong in their practices and they must be stopped immediately! This is only a portion of what I have been dealing with. We are looking for attorney assistance and option to refinance with another company.

Its seems that the previous post was a little misleading. First off, I know from experience that I was behind on a payment, I set up a payment arrangement to pay extra to get it caught up. I asked the rep if this will bring my account up to date, they said yes. Paid a double payment, got a call a week later saying I was still a payment behind. Paid extra the next month. Same thing kept getting calls to say I was behind, even though the rep/s I spoke with said it would be up to date. It was non stop, couldnt get a straight answer from anybody. Finally after months of getting harrassed and screwed I gave the truck back. They would not answer any questions without  playing phone tag, transfering my call a million times and so on. I almost went broke trying to satisfy my end of the agreement while they kept wanting unjustifiably more.

Capital One Auto Finance coaf A MESSAGE TO ALL COAF CUSTOMERS plano, Texas

As an employee of Capital One Auto Finance here are a few tips to our  Capital One customers.

1. If COAF calls you, just pick up the phone.By law they cannot call you more than once a day if the get the right person on the line. So if you avoid these calls, they will continue to calll you, your job,etc until you get on the phone. Remember that you are a customer so they  have the right to contact you about past due balances.

2. If you are having financial troubles just contact them and let them know. This will make it a lot easier on you. Inquire about extensions, deferments, hardships. Dont wait until your account is 30 plus days past due to ask for an extension. Chances are you will not get it.

3. Contrary to popular belief COAF can contact you, your job, your parents and etc any day of the week including Sundays. This brings me back to my 1st point. Remember that you are a customer and they have the right to contact you about past due balances.

4. It doesnt matter how many days you are late, COAF can contact you whether you are 1 day or 100 days. Remember that you are a customer and they have the right to contact you about past due balances.

5.Calls will not stop until a payment is made or an arrangement is made. This brings me back to my 2nd point. Remember that you are a customer and they have the right to contact you about past due balances.

6. If you want COAF to stop calling you, put it in writing. But note, just because the calls stop this does not mean you are free from late fees or possible repossession.
