Complaint Review: Capital One Bank
Capital One Bank Capital One Converting Free Checking Accounts To Accounts With Balance Minimums Without Informing Internet
Capital One Bankers Beware:
Capital One Has Done Away With Free Checking Accounts.
They force you to now have an account with a balance minimum. If you formerly had a free checking account, you will be charged a monthly fee, despite the fact that you have not consented to these terms. If you notice a new "balance minimum not met" charge on your statement, call customer service immediately, ask for a supervisor, and complain about their theft and deceptive practices. They are required to reverse the charges.
If there are any lawyers looking to file a class action lawsuit against Capital One: They have a track record for defrauding their customers with spurious fees. They need to be held accountable. Theft is theft. Charging someone for a service that they did not agree to is theft. Example: they have a rewards checking program that allows customers to redeem points, accrued with each banking transaction, for a monetary payment in check form. The problem is that Capital One makes it very difficult for the average customer to receive his/her check. Their excuses for non-payment include, "mailing address is undeliberable". There was also a previous postal fraud scam in which Capital One claimed that many customers had "undeliverable" addresses for receiving bank statements. The bank would then proceed to charge the customer for each statement deemed "undeliverable"
