This company in the absolute worse in have ever dealt with, and I think everyone should be aware.
I sent in a 500.00 deposit as requested by the company.
And canceled my credit card within 2 days after finding out the amount of interest they were charging.

I have made more than 30 phone calls concerning my money to be refunded to me.People are very very rude and no one ever knows what is happening.Needless to say I am still waiting for my money to be refunded. It has been over 3 months.Agreed I had to wait the 2 billing cycles as they mentioned, but I am still waiting. And another thing is they will not pay any interest on the money they are holding of mine.

I think I will retain an attorney, to see if I can get any interest IF and WHEN they decide to send me my deposit.

NOT REAL HAPPY,

Mark

Don't trust Capitalone

AUTHOR: Caleb Brocious - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 03, 2011

I am a contractor for capitalone and it take's nothing to get a job that will give you all the administrative access to accounts of anyone with capitalone. I was contacted by multiple recruiters and given a test that apparently anyone could pass because their are some shady people that while they may be nice people are dumber than rocks. I also found out they are so understaffed that they will basically hire anyone and even have people who do other jobs sign an onboarding form to make it seem like there are more people working for capitalone than there really are. Even if I could help someone with their problem I have a time limit of 10 minutes and would have to escalate the call to another resolver group that would get back to the customer supposedly within 48 hours but have seen it where people have not been taken care of in 2 weeks and even then they were not really taken care of. I was given admin access to programs and  passwords for banking programs and with some of the people i work with I wouldn't even want them to know where I live. People have Cell phones hooked up to their pc's where they can download any kind of account info they want. There are a few things that go on that I cannot mention for legal reasons and I doubt capitalone even knows about. I would not trust my money with a company who has no idea of whats going on in the servicedesk center that has complete control of everything. It's scary how vulnerable you're money is and how they don't care about helping a customer they care about getting the person off the phone in 10 minutes or less.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

I understand and have a suggestion

AUTHOR: Dee In Toronto - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, June 06, 2009

Hello Mount Carmel...
I went to the chat site and as you will see below I tried to get the info that you were trying to get regarding a refund of your deposit. I changed the name of the rep I spoke with online to just say rep for privacy purposes...

What I would suggest you do is contact the Ombudsman in writing demanding a refund and send it either certified mail or some type of mail service where you can track it (Xpresspost, priority courier, etc). That way you have a date indicating that it was sent and received. Now I am assuming that this was for a guaranteed card (which by the way you should never try to get. It is one of the worst credit cards to have. The interest rates on them are always high and they are set up in such a way to basically get as much money from you as possible, even more than regular credit cards...get a prepaid credit card instead it is much easier to control. BMO and Royal Bank have them for a low fee and they have the same rights and privileges as a regular credit card).
Hope this helps!

Chat InformationHi and welcome to our Capital One chat service! One of our specialists will be right with you.

Chat InformationYou are now chatting with "Rep".

Rep: Thanks for visiting Capital One. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have about our credit cards. My name is Rep. How can I help you today?

You: Hello Rep

You: I had a question about your guaranteed card

Rep: Hi there.

You: one of the guaranteed cards you offer

Rep: Okay.

You: if you send a security deposit and received the okay from Capital one and actually receive the card

You: what happens if you change your mind and decide that you no longer want the card. Do you get your deposit back?

Rep: That's a good question!

Rep: The security fund is in place to help you get access to credit. It's fully refundable if you decide to close your account and pay your balance in full.

Rep: Did I explain that clearly?

You: okay so if I return the card not having a balance on it...

You: when would I receive my deposit?

Rep: The security funds will be refunded if the closing account is in good standing.

Rep: I am sorry to inform that we do not have have information regarding the time frame of refunding the security deposit.

Rep: I can only process a new application through this Live Chat option.

Rep: I regret for the inconvenience caused.

Rep: Do you wish to apply for a Capital One credit card?

You: no...I already did which was why I was asking the question

Rep: Okay.

Rep: Not a problem.

Rep: I will be glad to help you, if you have any further questions for me?

You: if you could refer me to the correct department or division that can answer my questions regarding security deposit refunds that would be excellent

Rep: Sure.

Rep: As, I don't have access to your account information. I would request you to call us at 1-800-481-3239, a Customer Service Representative will be happy to assist you.

Rep: Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Rep: Is there anything else I can help you with today?

You: is there anyone else I could try because I have contacted the customer service division and they were unable to give me a solid answer. Is there a supervisor or higher level department that I could talk to ?

Rep: Since this online Chat application is only to process new applications. We do not have any information regarding the time frame of refunding the security deposit. I would request you to call the above number regarding the same.

Rep: Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Rep: I can only process a new application through this Live Chat option.

Rep: Do you have any further questions for me?'

You: I understand Rep. I also understand that I have tried many different ways to get a simple answer. I guess I will have to take this matter up with the Ombudsman, since I can't get the answer that I am looking for. You've been as much help to me as you can and I appreciate it...but all I need is a straight answer or at least

You: a direction to the person who can provide it.

You: thank you for your time Rep

Rep: You are welcome and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Rep: Thanks for chatting with us! If you'd like to provide feedback about your experience with us today, please click the button that reads "CLOSE" at top right to answer a few quick questions.

Interest

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 04, 2009

Lets see...

500$ at an average savings interest of 2% annually, compounded quarterly comes out to....

$2.45 Man that is a lot of interest to sue over.

If you are just now in the third billing cycle I would look for it soon. If you start pushing 4-5 months then I would start looking to file a small claims court case against the company.

Its not worth it to hire a lawyer over 500$, you will eat up all your money in legal fees.
