Capitol One Consumer Membership Services ripoff DISHONEST LIARS and THEIVES tricked and lied to us victimized many consumers I paid a fee for this help I DID NOT pay for it to have bad marks on my credit! Plano Texas

Here is a copy word for word of a letter I sent to Capital One.

Capital One sold me Payment Protection insurance, and never once did they fail to charge my account. Well when I lost my job I called for my forms, once they came I filled them out and sent them right back in. About a month goes by and they sent me my statement with a bill.

So I called them to inform them that I was covered by Payment Protection. They inform me that they never received my paperwork. Again they send out forms, again I fill them out and mail them out within 24 hours. Again I get a bill, now 60 days behind,late charges and interest adding up.

Again I call to inform them that I have Payment Protection. Once again they tell me I am not covered because they haven't received my paperwork, yet again they send me another application, and again I fill it out, but this time I send it registered mail, well guess what? They finally received it! All is good right? Interest and late charges droped?

Wrong! Because by now I'm 90 days behind and turned over to a collection agency. While all of this is going on there have been many, many phone calls back and forth to Capital One and Payment Protection. Capital One keeps telling me it's my problem. Well why do they sell the Payment Protection if they are not going to help you follow up? So now Payment Protection tells me all is go!

Wrong! Now they tell me that my employer forgot to add the exact date that I was laid off. After several attemps to get ahold of someone at my former job,with no luck,the customet service rep at Payment Protection was trying to be helpfull by trying to get ahold of my former employer, after telling me that she isn't supposed to go above and beyond to help customers,as it could be her job. So I really don't beleive she tried.

So in the mean time I'm getting sometimes three calls a day from this collection agency, sometimes civil, sometimes not. Although they and myself have not been able to get a response from my former employer, I was however able to prove that I really was laid off by sending them 7 plus months of unemployment pay stubs. Which by the way my other three credit cards excepted. Why was this good enough for all of my other card companys but not CAPITAL ONE!!

I payed a fee every month for a little help, for the bad times. If they would look, they would see that my payment history has always been pretty good, every month! I paid a fee for this help. I DID NOT pay for it to have bad marks on my credit! I do not dispute that I owe Capital One on this account, but I think it only fair that they do their part.

Since this writing I have heard nothing, still getting nasty calls. This letter was put on Planet Feedback.com and forwarded to Capital One. Today I had to consult a lawyer. Here is what I asked of them, with no results.

What I would like to see happen is for Capital One and myself to start fresh. I would like to see Capital one go back to the time of my layoff and drop any and all charges and fees caused by this misunderstanding, and to remove this mark off of my credit report! And in return I will again make my payments as though none of this ever happened.

Through collection agencies Capital One has offered to settle for dimes on the dollar, this is not what I am looking for, I do indeed owe this debt, and would like to pay as agreed in our contract,in return they should honor their end. I am not trying to avoid paying what I owe, all of my other credit card companys are happy. I would like to see myself and Capital one happy too! By the way I have two Capital One accounts and they don't complain about the other one. Thank You;

Yea they finally got my letter when someone had to sign for it. I don't think I'n being unreasonable with this solution. None of this should have happened in the first place!
