Capitol one will let you go over the limit then hit you with a late charge. Rep said I should have known I was over limit. Then they seem to always get you with a late charge on top of the over limit charge.

I try to pay early but they will put it in for the next month then they dont send me a bill for the following month then they hit me with more late charges. You can't win. $600 owed on $300 limit go figure. Now they're taking me to a court in my town. Like they say you can't get blood out of a rock.

Same thing preditory lending

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

My experience was this. I tired to use one of their checks to pay off another credit card bill. But Cap 1 refused to honor it only didn't inform me till 1 1/2 month later. Then they back dated everything and grabbed their money back causing a domino effect. Two other cards wern't paid and became delequent and over due.

They also lowered the available limit on my CAP 1 card so it was just above the balance. Then they processed a check too slowly by one day and I went over the limit and got a much higher rate. So in one months time I became delequent in three cards and was charged the higher rates. ARG! Someone should have contacted me right away.

But worst was they at first did it so everything was okay. I called to check and looked at balances and it was done. Then went on vacation only to find they took it back weeks later and then failed to notify me for 1 1/2 months. Disaster!!!!

Cap 1 charged me about 28% but I heard on the news they made it to 42% per annum for some people.

Are all credit card companies corrupt?

Chase bank was the worse. They did all sorts of stuff to make my account delequent so they could raise the rate.

1. failed to credit my account with a payment.
2. held the payment for more than one week and then I was delequent.
3. held it for several days so I was delquent.
4. gave me the wrong payement amounts so I didn't pay the proper amount and then I was delquent.
5. told me over the phone everything was fine and then charged me fees that made the account delequent.

I called 4 times and got it reset and eventually just gave up. Each time I called they said I was delequent last time. Their records NEVER show they made a mistake. One guy even said they were doing me a favor. ARG!
