Car Land They refuse to exchange a car my daughter purchase from them. They will not refund the money or exchange if for a car that runs. The car was stolen off a Walgreen's parking lot and no one reported it stolen. They have given us the run-around and have refused to tell us what is going on with the car. This company has had 2 weeks to find a replacement car for my daughter. Still nothing. ripoff Kansas City Missouri

On September 26, 2006 My daughter went to car land and purchase a car 1998 Mercury Topaz tomato red. The car would stop in the middle of street, at traffic lights, on the freeway etc.

For three months my daughter had to deal with this and the company would not fixed the problem. Every two weeks without fail, she paid the car note, and the car continued to stop wherever she went. On Christmas day, the car stopped running while she was at her job. She broked down and cried because this car was making her stressful and emotional.

The final straw came 2 weeks ago when the car finally died at a Walgreen's parking lot. She called carland and asked for help. They told her there was nothing they could do. After that I went to their car lot every other day and talked with Jessika who said that Chuck was in charge, but he refused to do anything. They told her they had cars they would trade with her but that never happened.

It has been a nighmare for my daughter because she does not have a car to go to work in, and carland is refusing to give her a refund on the payments she made for the topaz. Even if she were to make a trade they want her to paid more money for another car and, she cannot afford the prices they are offering.

All I want carland to do is to give my daughter another car of equal value for the one she had. She does not have a car and carland has her money and won't do anything.

PLEASE HELP HER!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Caveat Emptor= Buyer Beware(((DONT KNOW IF YOU WANT POSTED SORT OF RUDE)))

A used car is a used car, by stating she pays twice monthly tells me that your daughter bought a buy here, pay here car.
Her credit is bad, the car has at least 90,000+ miles on it, and I strongly believe that the dealer gave no warranty, other than the car is capable of driving off the car lot.
You say the car was stolen from a Walgreen's parking lot and no one reported it stolen, who was supposed to do that? A Walgreen employee? Why? The car was probably towed because it was illegaly parked for more than a week. Check with the local towing companies, and oh yes! have your daughter report it stolen, it is her car after all.
I realize a young person, who has screwed up credit, has few options on what they can afford, but a reputable repair shop can fix the car, it just costs money, something your daughter doesn't have.
Best suggestion is for her to find her car, park it, and save up for the repairs, and ride a bike until she has enough funds.
