card cash Multiple sales of same gift card. Internet

I recently purchased 2 $25 Cracker Barrel gift cards from cardcash.com.  When I tried to redeem the cards one had a zero balance and the other one had a $5 balance.  I called Cracker Barrel and was told one of the cards was redeemed in Dallas Texas and the other one was used in a small town in Georgia.  It appears the cards (same number) were sold to two people.

I called card cash and was told I would recieve a refund which was $3 less than I paid for the cards.  Appears to be a scam of some sort.  I won't be buying any more cards from card cash.
