My bill was payed off shortly after Spiegel quite using FCNB. Soon I started getting letters from Card Processing Center charging late fees and a small balance.

I have sent 3 letters with copies of all my cancelled checks and past necessary bank statements plus multiple other letters over the past year. All I get in return are letters saying that they can't believe I am ingoring them. Ignoring them!!!???

I have had all 3 credit bureaus investingate the account and they have all deleted the account from my credit report. I still get letters from CPC. I called CPC to tell them the credit situation and he told me his managers would have to investigate and the negative account would get put back on my credit report.

When I requested to speak to a manager, he hung up on me!

From what I've seen of other complaints, these people need to be handled now!!!!

#11 UPDATE EX-employee responds

YOU'RE ALL CLUELESS

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 06, 2005

The workers and ex-workers are right and no one else. Heart or not heart, you'll work where people give you a pay check. Otherwise, your garbage would never get picked up.
Also, this situation is about because you people didn't pay your bills from the start. The company has hundreds of workers and no one but the main guys get the money. Why would people without a vested interest steal money for the people who don't even know their names. If it wasn't so hard to track down you delinquents, maybe there wouldn't be extra charges and interest. Pay your bills and shut up.

Clarence, Clarence, Clarence....shame on you! You are a big fat liar at his worst!

AUTHOR: Deanna - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 08, 2005

Wow Clarence,

Your false comments truly amaze me and the hundreds of other victims out there that have complained. How is it possible that ALL of us consumers are the rude ones? Hundreds of us against just a few of you. I think that you should re-think what you said. It makes no sense.

It is in fact the company you represent (Card Processing Center) that holds the responsibility to properly handle accounts, since Card Processing Center purchased the accounts from FCNB for pennies on the dollar, Card Processing Center is now RESPONSIBLE!

I had been a 3 year customer with Newport News, always paid my bill on time with no problems up until I had to deal with Card Processing Center!
I sent in a change of address on the back of my statement back in 2003, but the address was never changed, therefore I did not receive statements. Because the company did not change my address, it caused my account to go past due. Of course, you made sure to skip trace to get an address on me, assuming that I was ligitimately past due, but really was not because of a mistake Card Processing Center made by not changing the address in the first place!

I called immediately upon receiving the letter and got RUDE representatives just like you! You proved it in your rebuttal, I printed it up for my attorney...thank you! Because I could not get a PROFESSIONAL minded associate over the phone, I then disputed the fees via certified/return receipt mail, but I did not get a response from Card Processing Center. Don't you know Clarence, that it is the law to respond to a dispute? Consumers have 60 days to sent a written dispute and you, as the company have to resond within 30 days and cease any further collections (including sending the account to a 3rd party collection agency).

Well, because you didn't respond to the certified letter, I sent a 2nd letter, AGAIN with no response! Oh and don't worry Clarence, I had the correct address. Less than a week after the 2nd letter, I received a letter from a 3rd party collection agency and after speaking with their manager, she dumped the so-called bill back to Card Processing Center, because it was illegally sent to them.

So, what stupid thing do you think Card Processing Center did? Sent it yet to another 3rd party collection agency. I called them also and they dumped the so-called bill back to you also. And why? BECAUSE IT WAS A BILL THAT SHOULDN'T BE AND WAS ILLEGAL FOR A 3RD PARTY COLLECTION AGENCY TO COLLECT!

My bill amount prior to the late fee additions was paid in full and the company you represent is trying to get late fees out of me that should have never existed or at least corrected because of their error!

It's funny how everytime I try to call, I get a rude jerk-off like you on the other end. Everytime I call, I am respectful and nice, but it is YOU and OTHERS that work with you that talk down to US! Telling me to just pay the bill and refusing to listen to my story, even with all of my proof. It is YOU that make us act rude by your snide remarks and your innability to handle a simple situation. It is scary to know that there are people like you skip-tracing accounts and having access to people's credit information, social security numbers etc. These are documents that need to be handled professionally! You have proven yourself just the opposite.

Don't worry Clarence, you won't be working there much longer, because I promise you that there will be a class action lawsuit with all these hundreds of complaints. I won't quit until you are all brought straight to hell!
Your little $8.00/hour job is all you will ever get, because you aren't smart enough or professional enough to be making $100,000/ year like me and I am not usually one to brag about my income, but felt it necessary in dealing with you!

Oh and may I suggest......get into a different line of work. Your customer service skills suck!!! Oh and don't forget...what goes around comes around :)

Per Clarence:

"The people that have problems with us are rude and self righteous. The employees are not loyal to the company, we are normal people just like you. We will not, however, be spoken down to by anyone.

Also, we could care less if someone mentions Don Berman's name. If someone called Microsoft and asked to speak with Bill Gates it would be equally ridiculous. The person who said Pittsburgh reps are assholes is full of s**t. The correspondence department is shoddy at best. They just open letters and route them to the relative department. If they were more competent then problems like Stephanie's could be dealt with much more quickly. They know nothing about the actual collection department, they just now how to open envelopes."

If the employees are not loyal, why the hell do they work there? And when employees aren't loyal it is evident in the way they handle customers - ie. they come off sounding like assholes. Case in point "The person who said Pittsburgh reps are assholes is full of s**t." As a representative of any company, employees are supposed to show company loyalty, and not act in any manner as to discredit or bad mouth their employer. This isn't written down mind you, it's a common sense issue. Cutting down and discrediting your correspondence department makes you sound as ignorant as you perceive they are, simple as that.

Dear, dear Clarence, me thinks you are in the wrong line of work.

You people sicken me

I work in the Recovery Department (collection of charged off accounts) in the Pittsburgh Collection unit. I have dealt with this kind of problem on countless occasions.

First of all, I would like to say that the issues reported by all disgruntled consumers with relation to this portfolio are not the fault of Card Processing Center. These are problems that we inherited as a result of the bankruptcy filed by FCNB, they are not something that we caused.

Secondly, it is very easy to have this taken care of. If your complaint is in fact valid, call and ask to speak with the supervisor of the Recovery Department. When you do this, do it with manners and there will be no problem. Yes, we can be very rude, but that is not the goal from the outset of the call. If the caller is polite and respectful to us, invariably the collector will be as helpful as possible. I personally have marked numerous accounts like Stephanie's as paid in full and deleted the negative credit reporting. Frequently the cardholder did pay the balance, but paid a little late, thus accruing fees and interest. This is the most common reason for this kind of problem.

The second most common reason is that a product was returned but either the shipping fees were non-refundable or the account was not credited. Again, we have no problem waiving the balance if the complaint is valid.

The people that have problems with us are rude and self righteous. The employees are not loyal to the company, we are normal people just like you. We will not, however, be spoken down to by anyone.

Also, we could care less if someone mentions Don Berman's name. If someone called Microsoft and asked to speak with Bill Gates it would be equally ridiculous. THE BEST WAY TO GET THINGS DONE

It is great you got CPC off your credit report. I'd love to help you get the balance cleared. As a employee of the Dispute Resolution department, I am in charge of that, and do have the authority to clear your balance should that be the case. If I were you, Id stop calling the customer service line. They are not there to provide customer service, they just take payments. Sometimes if you call, you get someone nice who will expedite your request to our department. The best way to ensure that your claim gets handled is to fax or mail your issues...In fact you should do both. If you are going to mail it, make sure its certified mail so that you have proof for your records. Waiving a balance is as easy as 2 keystrokes, should the balance not be charged off. If it has been, then theres a problem. Charged off accounts are usually sold to a agency to be collected. I feel for some of former FCNB customers, but from what I've heard most of you are getting better service from us than from FCNB. I agree they need to be handled now. Each persons account and issue is different so it may take a while. Be patient and follow the guidelines set forth on the previous entry so we can try and get you cleared. After all we dont want to deal with you as much as you dont want to deal with us. Lets try and expedite things so that we can get off each others back.

Ok here is the best way to get things done

AUTHOR: CARDWORKS - (U.S.A.)

. I work in the Chargebacks Unit that handles the billing disputes. The first thing you should do is fax your letter. The fax# is 516-576-0422. Make it to the attention of the CORRESPONDENCE SUPERVISOR. Also MAKE SURE YOU PUT YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER ON THERE, AND SIGN THE REQUEST. I DEAL WITH A GOOD 500 pieces of FCNB/MBIA/SPEIGAL correspondence and if it doesnt have either or its not written legibly, then the correspondence gets filed away in a cabinet called UTL (UNABLE TO LOCATE) I can emphatize with you about the collectors, theyre a bunch of assholes and can be very rude. The next time they call your house and pester the crap out of you, tell them youll call don berman (CEO--CARDHOLDER MANAGEMENT SERVICES...SERVICING COMPANY WHO OWNS MBIA/SPEIGEL-FCNB ACCTS....also known as CARD PROCESSING CENTER) himself (516) 576-0404 and the guy will no doubt back off. The collections department is located in 2 facillities. One is in Woodbury, and the other is in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh reps are the worst, they have no manners. If the account was in-fact paid in full, they'll waive the balance for you. Its just a matter of 2-3 key strokes on the computer. If it isnt, then you better pay that bill or get a lawyer. Hope it helps. If not, call Don Berman
