Cardinal Fitness Charter Fitness Impossible to cancel membership and outrageous fees, Internet

We came into this gym because of a free 5-day trial that we saw online. Once we got there and sat down with an employee, we were told that there was no 5-day trial. Sigh. Fine, didn't have the time to argue so we just signed up because we were told that there were no cancellation fees, blah blah blah. So, after a month, April, we found that gym boring and we had moved so we called to cancel. We couldn't cancel over the phone, they needed a form filled out in person or faxed or mailed in (this is what the EMPLOYEE TOLD HIM) so he told the employee to mail the stupid form to our old address and it would be faxed to us.

And, with there being more important things in life than a crappy gym, it left our priority list until months later the current resident at our old address called and told us we got collection letters from the gym. I was told that gyms will avoid communication in writing at all costs so that they are not held liable for anything. Well, I am not going to stop until these idiots respond in writing. I am ready to talk to everyone else who is getting hassled by this gym and we can approach an attorney as a group because this company should be put out of business. I have tried SNAP fitness before and they did not give me ANY trouble when I cancelled with them. And, anyone else who is enticed by the cheap price, don't fall for it. Save yourself the trouble.
