This company advertises itself as a job search engine of sorts. You go in and put in some information to apply for a job, but there is a catch. On the job application there is a question that asks if you would like to "further your education".

If you check yes (Like I did), you will get an immediate phone call from a University about furthering your education....in my case it was the University of Phoenix online.

Initially in this conversation, if you hear them out, they are polite and professional... but as soon as I said that I would not want to start school again until the Spring semester (5 months from now) the lady got VERY pushy and tried to harass me into signing up for their university right there and then - and to start in 2 months!

Once I started asking about pricing she said she didn't know "anything about that" because she was the education advisor. She then said she would transfer me to someone who knew about finances, but then suddenly didn't have "anyone's number on hand"???? and then said she would email me his number and never did...

I am still getting emails from this company.... they are not a legitimate job website... if anything, they either want your money, want your info, or want to force you into going to there school?? I am not sure what is going on with them.... the one thing I do know is that their website is VERY misleading and you will have to deal with a lot of phone calls and emails without any job offers...

AUTHOR: Career Network - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 02, 2008

Career Network acts solely as an intermediary between you and the listed position. We do not extend job offers because we have no control over the hiring process. We collect open positions from employers and advertise them on our Web site as well as directly market them to people who have expressed an interest in being contacted about employment opportunities. After those who are interested apply, we forward the application directly to the employer. At that point, it is the hiring company's sole discretion whom they interview and hire.

To be clear, we only contact applicants with opportunities who specifically agree to our offers. This is done for two reasons. Primarily, it is done for your privacy. We value and respect your privacy and do not in any way wish to interfere with it. Secondly, only applicants who are serious about the opportunities are of value to our promotional partners. If you mark that you wish to receive this information, but really don't, you will be adding to the workload of our partners unnecessarily. In short, you will be wasting their time, and your own. Refusing to participate in any of our offers will not negatively impact your consideration for the listed position.

I hope this clears up any confusion you may have regarding our Web site and our recruitment services. Please feel free to contact us with any further issues or suggestions at info@careernetwork.us.com.
