This is a scam of a company.  They make the employees call insurance companies and lie to them in order to get an approval on a medication so they can make a profit.  They make the pharmacy tech's lie and say that they are nurses and calling from the doctor's office for oncology medications. You have to look conditions up on webmd.com and act like you are looking at the patient's chart.  They also make you work ten plus hours a day without any overtime and sometimes no break.  If you get a lunch break its at your desk.  They harrass, embarass, and belittle their employess and there is no respect at all there.  I have even heard them laugh at some of the patients.  Do not use this pharmacy or work there.  You will regret it.

I have been a Caremed patient for months and I was informed about this online remark 2 days ago and have been stewing over it ever since.  I don't know about being an employee there, (or a PREVIOUS employee fired for ???) but from a patient's perspective, there is no Pharmacy better.  About 4 months ago, my mother was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Multiple Myeloma.  It was an extremely difficult time for me, as I myself was also dealing with a recent diagnosis of MS, and the process and cost of getting my own medication was overwhelming.  When her doctor gave us her prescription, at first, we couldn't even find a pharmacy that carried it.  After about 3 days of phone calls to various pharmacies, we found one that could do it for us.  We sent them the prescription and they informed us that there was a $2200 copayment, which would be due every month!  I told them that I couldn't afford that, and tried to find out if there were any other options.  I was then put on the phone with the "owner" who was very rude and offered to help me call relatives to help out and put it on a credit card.  I was flabbergasted.  Then the nurse at my mother's doctor's office suggested I call Caremed.  I only wish I knew about them earlier!  I called them and spoke with a gentleman who was so friendly and so polite, I immediately felt reassured.  To make a long story short, (if that's possible at this point) The folks at Caremed were able to find my mother assistance through a foundation so that the medication has cost her ZERO dollars AND they DROVE the medication to my home the very same day I called!  Needless to say it brought me to tears and my mother and I have used them ever since.  They have also helped me with my MS shots and have made the additional stress of these terrible situations, minimal.  I speak with Ray about twice a month, and feel he genuinely cares.  This is a great pharmacy, and the way they care for their patients is the way Healthcare SHOULD be.

I can see writing a report about a crappy employer. Gods know I've worked for my share, but why would anyone, as a consumer of the service, care about that?

Think of it this way, the guy ordering from you with chronic back or whatever pain doesn't care about your workplace woes. All he wants is his dope so he can get relief and get some sleep. Hell, with the way you describe the place, it sounds like a narc dependent's wet dream... Imagine not having to fight with an actual doc face to face to get your fix! You can have an entire company lie on your behalf so you can get lifted on your OxyContin, Demerol or Dilaudid prescription? All you have to do is make sure the pusher gets paid? Yeeha!

See, that's the thing... As long as your company delivers for a fee with no hitches, hiccups or abysmal customer service, people will be more than happy to benefit from your workplace suffering. It's even worse in this particular area, because someone has to make a moral or ethical call about using your company based on their own discomfort and need. Guess which is usually gonna win out?

Your best bet is to seek out and report as a whistleblower to an agency that's not high on the supply... Perhaps an agency that deals with fair trades and practices for employees, of some version of an employment standards branch. At the very least, some manner of workman's compensation board. If the scrips are being filled as you say, then why not get something like the college of pharmacists and physicians involved? The average joe won't give a tin whistle for you, like it or not, as long as theiur needs are met.
