CarFax ,CarFax report on my car reports erroneous facts. Centreville Virginia

I placed an ad on Cars.Com to sell my car. I advertised in the description that the car has had no accidents or paintwork. The Cars.Com website has a feature which permits interested parties to check into the car's history accessing CarFax. My report erroneously showed that the car had an accident. That fact will likely cause a reduction in value. I never had an accident with that car. What CarFax was picking up was an accident involving a rental car which I was a passenger in. Because of this I had to have the report link pulled from the ad and worse yet I had to dig up all of the 1 year old paperwork to prove I was right.

CarFax first claimed that they would review or correct problems usually within 2 business days. They acknowledged receipt of my 11 page fax and sent me an email stating that it would be up to several business days. Worse yet is that they warned that further investigation could result in a six week delay. This is unacceptable that they can publish incorrect information about my property and cause a cloud in the minds of any potential buyers. I do not trust them to report correct information whether I am a buyer or seller. The delays caused by their errors are very frustrating. Their customer service is internet or fax or snail mail only. Are there any human beings who care in their customer service department??
