Carla Christman was charged under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act after constables seized 28 thin and emaciated horses languishing with intreated injuries on her property. Investigators also discovered 39 terrier mix dogs, puppies and cats in an unventilated area so thick with the stench of ammonia and feces that officers gagged upon entry.
This woman was taking donations from the public on the pretext of running an animal rescue
The animals are in SPCA foster homes awaiting rehoming.

•Sold horses and accepted payment and then refused to hand over horses or refund money. •Admitted to selling horses infected with EHV-1 neurological without disclosure. •Owes hay growers several thousand dollars. •Continues to breed and neglect animals despite having 73 animals removed in 2009. •Claims her horses are rescued off reserve, yet continues to breed more than she can afford to feed or care for, and is unable to find buyers.
