I am not going to write my long story because basically I am in the same boat as all the rest of you complaining about your cars you purchased through Carmax. I like you have tried to return my car and they will not take it back!!! They sold me the car saying it was in excellent condition with low miles. Little did they tell me the low 15,000 miles that were on it were put on in as little as 8 months!!
The car was purchased at a wholesale auction. Doesn't their brochure and website state "that any car that does not meet our high quality standards are sold at auctions"???? Then why did they purchase mine there and tell me it was in excellent working condition?? I have had my passenger door fall off the hinges and it had to be roped to my driver's side door so that I could drive the 20 miles to my home with my 8 month old and 3 year old in the backseat!!! My brakes and tie-rods are shot. My brake lights don't work because the wire keeps on fraying when we replace the fuse or light, I have an electrical problem where my windows decide by themselves to go up and down and the interior lights flash on and off constantly or don't work at all!!
My transmission is slipping between 1st & 2nd gear and the paint is chipping off my front bumper!! Boy let me tell you this is an excellent car!!! I have asked them to buy my car back at what is owed on it since it has been "fixed" by them before and I still have either the same problems or more problems. They will not buy it back because of the problems!!! I have contacted Channel 5 Investigative Reports and they will get back to me on Monday June 28th when she is back from vacation (I spoke with her intern, I have also contacted the Better Business Bureau. Now if I can get enough people to join me I can file a class action lawsuit against them.
I am not going to sit back and let these people walk all over me. They sold me a piece of crap car and they are going to take it back no matter what it takes and I will get my money back for it. I drive my car everyday and my 2 small children are in it everyday I refuse to jepordize the life of my children and myself because Carmax has no morals in selling "broken" cars!!! If you would like to join me in a class action lawsuit or possible in an interview with Channel 5 news If you disagree with me in this then that is fine and it is your opinion please do not bother me with it!!
