March 2006 I flew from Az to Kansas to pick up our 9th springer puppy. 9 in a period of 30 years. She was beautiful. When she was approximately one year old she began to have seizures. We have spent thousands and hae tried all of the medications available to us, which is heartbreaking. A sweeter dog neer lived. I had been provided a lot of pictures and info stating that she had been in this business for many years and had very healthy animals. I notified her as to the problems, her answer was to return her at my expense, which I would not have done even at her expense. I wanted this to be known to her so that she would not breed the animals she had used for my puppy. She, of course denied ever having a problem in this area and was not really concerned.
Obviously, this was only a way to pay her bills, not for the love of the animals.
I know my little dog will have a very short life. I am just happy that I can afford to get her the medical attention that she needs (a lot of people would not be able to)
A sweeter dog never lived and she knows she is not well. I hope this woman never gets back into this business.

I am very sorry for Bobbye from Arizona. I, too bought an adorable puppy from Carolyn Dewey's Springer Spaniels in Kansas. I believe my puppy may be from the same litter as it was approximately the same time you got yours.
This was my 3rd Springer Spaniel. Our wonderful 15 year old had just died and we were heartbroken.
The parents of my dog (Lily Belle) are Maestro and Belle. I noticed that Belle had several litters and photos on the website and suddenly she was nowhere to be seen. I suspected she may have been the problem.
My little dog is so precious to me. She began to have seizures just after she turned two. She is now four and takes Potassium Bromide, Phenabarbital and Zonisamide to control her seizures. I was told by my vet that hers is the worst case he has ever seen.
After she began to have seizures, I was so broken hearted and just needed to get some shred of information about what to expect in the future. I e-mailed Carolyn Dewey with my very sad story. I only wanted some kind of information of support and she never bothered to respond to my e-mail. She can deny all she wants that she had no knowledge of health issues with her dogs. She has been advised.
