After the May 23rd death of my dearly loved walking horse, I responed to an ad with Dreamhorse.com. Carol Harrison(not her real name) told me she was selling 3 horse she and her husband owned and traveled with in their retirement years. The 14.2 Tennessee walking horse I was interested in was represented as child safe, her grandkids as young as 4 rode, as she went on and on how popular the 5 year old black horse was with the kids at the camp grounds, let them ride double, pack frogs, snakes even carried watermelons in plastic grocery bags tied fast to the saddle from a nearby farmers field. Long story short. We picked up the horse in Dobson NC. We were to exchange the horse and cash about 9:30 pm June 8. The horse got to us at 3:00 am after many excuses.

The horse looked thin and taller than we expected, we measured his height and almost didn't take him. He had a glue patch on his butt,... did they run him though a sale and he didn't bring enough money? I Got him home to PA and this horse is very ill. Two different antibiotics haven't worked yet and the horse is currently at a vet hospital.(14 days from purchase). His Coggins is fake. His registered papers do not match the horse.

We are waiting for a DNA kit to ID him. Who is he? Was he stolen?

Another horse terrorist(in my opinion) Kelly Rogers(not her real name)entered the picture to finalize the sale, representing herself as Carol's daughter and POA?!

I know it says do not sign my name but I want to talk to the people that bought the other 2 horses, a 16 hand black TWH and a palomino TWH who also filed a report this month of June with ripoff.com

We are working with the USDA. So much more to the story. Be aware and trust your instincts.

Victim Too!

AUTHOR: rene - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, September 07, 2012

I saw a horse on the internet that was everything I was desiring. --TWH 16.1 and beginner safe!  I decided to inquire about this horse through an email.  I was promptly responded to within 24 hours by Terry (Surely not her real name), but has the exact same cell number that is listed in the previous report.  I believe we did business with the same individual.  I spoke in great length with Terry on the phone in reference to this particular horse.  She was very informative and she did answer all my questions.  Apparently, I did not ask the right questions.  My first red flag, should have been when she stated that she was selling the horse for a young girl that was changing disciplines.  Secondly, I should have questioned being asked to send the money to an address that was portrayed to me to be the current owner of the horse.  I did mail the certified check and waited for Terry to call and we could arrange shipping.  She did call and let me know that the check was received and then we had one more discussion about shipping and she requested that I call back in a few days.  Well, this is where it all starts to not make sense.  I tried a dozen times to reach Terry by email and by phone--no responses to either.  Then, I get a strange phone call from another woman named Dakota (surely not her real name.)  She informed me that she had Sarge at her farm and that she would try to reach Terry.  I thought it was strange  that the horse was no longer in Terry's possession--if it ever was.  Dakota and I spoke back in forth a couple of times and she claimed to be having the same problem reaching Terry.  She did say that she is taking care of the horse and that she had the papers.  I eventually mentioned to Dakota that we can arrange the shipping ourselves and that Terry has already been paid for the horse.  She insisted on still trying to reach Terry.  After not hearing from either one of them for yet another week--I decided to do a little research.  This is when I came across your report.  Research came a little too late--I'd been had.  She had my money and she still had the horse that she probably promptly sold it to yet another unsuspecting individual.  I notice that the horse is still listed on line and has never had a sold sign posted on it, and I purchased him over a month ago.  I feel sick about the whole situation and am looking into any recourse I might have.  She is very slick and a great salesman--I fell for it hook, line and sinker.  I have sent yet another email to Terry, in which I expected to receive a full refund and no longer would accept delivery of the horse--I'm pretty sure that horse either doesn't exist or has been sold several times.  I'm sure that this email will go unanswered, --as have all the others.  Would love to hear from other consumers of this Terry and what their experience was with her.
