We, like many other people these days, do not have perfect credit. I purchased an inexpensive used car from Carriage motor company on January 31st 2009. They said financing was not a problem, the bank rep was there and had already, "signed for the loan", (Lie #1). Three weeks went by with no contact, so we thought everything was fine. Jimmy Vargas, a finance guy, called on a Friday afternoon and said we needed a co-signer on the loan. I explained to him that a dealer has a 10 day right to rescind, and after that, legally, they'd need to finance the vehicle themselves if they couldn't find a lender. He said they'd sent a letter of rescision, I asked what the date on it was. After a long pause he said uh....February 9th, (Lie #2). I said I'd like to see the letter, Jimmy said, "just bring ther car back, I don't want to work with you"; then hung up.

I returned the car Saturday despite their violation of the contract. I asked for Jimmy. Jimmy invited me to his office and even presented an obviously forged letter of recision dated, you guessed it, February 9th, (Lie #3). I asked for the return of my deposit, as required by law before I returned the car. From that moment, they treated me like a criminal! Jimmy himself blocked my car with a large truck and said he'd call the Sheriff if I didn't give him the keys. They tried to block me from leaving the building, isn't that the legal definition of kidnapping? I asked them to please, call the Sheriff, they refused.

Finally I found the sales manager on duty, we wrote out a DMV fact statement, that they owed me the money, which I was to pick-up on Monday, now they say it has to be processed and will take, "a while", how long is "a while? I had written an additional post dated check, the day they cancelled the deal, they cashed it!! Now they say I have to wait 10 days for the return of that money. As a result, I can't buy a new car for 10 days!!
Stay away from this place, it's not only a typical sales shark environment, but dangerous!!
