Complaint:
I am in the military just coming back from a tour overseas. My wife and I needed a car to get around so we entered Casey Volkswagon car dealership. I come in telling sales person I want to buy a car financed with low interest. We find the car (msrp 18,716) and he comes back with an offer of 2,000 down and 420 a month for 48 months and a cash back of 8,000 after 39 months GUARANTEED! So 22,160 sounded like a good deal weather or not we got the 8,000 cashback. Never stating that this was a lease.

We even put 2,000 down for this deal that he wrote on a piece of paper and told me to initial. Then after 6 hours of waiting around for them to get their finance paperwork together we we're sent into another room with a financial director (Cherie M. Myers) to sign the deal for good. She concentrated on the figure 22,000 and does not show us much more but says sign, even though we ask about the cashback first. She tells us that after we sign she will tell us about the cashback so we did b/c of exhuastion sitting around waiting to finish the deal. After we sign she then shows us that the max we would get is 8,000 but the least would be 15% of the max which is 1,200.

After getting home we look over the contract again and at the bottom it says gross capital cost of 25876.68 so we call volkswagon lease dealership and ask them why we owe so much and he says it's b/c the dealership charged us that much. So I go back to the dealership with my supervisor and ask why we were given a lease that would eventually cost us around 30,000 to keep the car. The dealership was not willing to explain were the extra cost came from just kept saying that we signed it and the deal was funded and there was nothing they could do. This was no were closed to the deal that the sales person offered and keeping us 6 hours and taking a deposit to seal the deal before signing papers is just shady business practice.

We went back and even recorded what the sales person said about the contract we got and

Settlement Explanation:
I would like them to refund my deposit 2,000 so at least we will not be paying almost double what the car is worth. I admit that I should not have signed in haste but they should not get away with such shady business practices. Expecially when the salesperson offers a deal that does not correspond to the deal that the dealership offers.
