Cash call has lied about their services. My interest rate went sky rocketed, plus they did not explain the terms... for a 10,000 that I been paying for the last 4-5 years at $332 a month is going to cost me over 30,000 to repay them after another 6 years which is total of 11 years can they do this?
They have no communication skills within themselves. They will call you up to 25 times a day every few minutes, that is after you made a payment. When you tell them that you just spoke to someone they end up being rude and practically calling you a lair.
Their service is unbelievable I would not recommended to anyone. especially after the terms they pull off. It is bad enough that most of us will not be able to get a loan but that does not mean that we have to be so naive and not explain exactly what you are getting into. Though most of us did not know this intil after the fact it does not justify the interest rate or the harassment we recieve.

Because the terms of their loans, including their rediculously high interest rates, are LEGAL in California and the other states where they grant loans.
However, there is a California statute, called the Rosenthal FDCPA that forbid CREDITORS to harass and use misleading tactics to collect. If you're in california and they call you 10 times a day, you might successfully sue them in CA state court for violating the Rosenthal FDCPA.

Why has not the better business bureau or any news channel done a report on them? Why are we still being ripped off by them?

CASH CALL - IRVINE, CALIFORNIA NOW MOVING TO LAS VEGAS AS WEEK

I have been trying for years to pay them off and yet again I still owe them another 9,000 even though I haver already paid the over 30,000 and they decide to mark me late on my credit report every single month though I am on time. The calls have semi reduced but their credit is the worst kind. I have asked them why they are reporting me late when I am on time and they said well why dont you just pay the amount owed on the account and this should all stop. Is this really fair? Can they actually report you late when you are not? Can they just raise the interest rate to 99% on a 10,000 loan. I should have been done a long time ago but they seem to never come to an agreement within the company and their communication skills are still unbelieveable..... When are they going to be stopped?

Aunt, if you left the company for that reason - you are an idiot. If you really know anything about the FDCPA, Cash Call doesn't need to comply with the FDCPA because they aren't a 3rd party collector. They loaned the money - they are allowed to utilize whatever means are necessary to extract payment.
Next time, tell people you left Cash Call because you think they happen to be an unethical company that preys on the poor, the ignorant, and the uneducated. At least you'll sound more principled.
Sharon, the bottom line is that under California laws - normal usury laws generally aren't applicable to certain institutions at the rates that Steve quoted - finance companies happen to be one of those companies, and the max rate they can charge is significantly higher than the 34.95% APR quoted. Pawn Brokers/Shops happen to be another. You almost have to look at Cash Call the same way as a Pawn Broker without the saxaphone in the display case.

In California, you can not surreptitiously record telephone calls. You must make the caller aware that he is being recorded. Otherwise, not only is it inadmissable in court, but it is a criminal act.
Steve, if, as you say, the maximum allowable interest rate in California is 34.95%, how in the world does Cash Call get away with charging nearly 100% APR? That is the $64,000 question.

25 calls is a fdcpa violation
AUTHOR: Aunt - (U.S.A.)

I'm an ex employee of the company. I've been in the collection business for many years. I had to leave due to the fact that they violate every law the fdcpa has. My suggestion is that if you are getting collection calls from them, record the conversation. Trust me, you will have a guarnteed lawsuit. The reason the collectors and the managers violate, is because every department has huge bonuses that they put in front of them which in return pushes the collector to threaten and harrass the customers to get the money. Same with the loan reps. They will do whatever it takes to manipulate you to sign the docs, because once your in..your in. They may even call you days later after you have been denied, and tell you now you are approved. So as far as the collection department, trust me ,,,they are all violating he fdcpa.

Bobby,
Although I am no fan at all of these types of businesses, your information is flawed. Also keep in mind that the OP is in CA, not TN, so the laws are different on these operations.
You wrote>>
"... but also im telling you, the interests rates are illegal.
***No, they are not illegal, unethical and immoral for sure, but these are multi-million dollar per year businesses who pay a team of lawyers to be in compliance.***
.."Im advising everyone to stop paying for the loans, get together with others who have filed reports and file a class action lawsuit"...
***WHY does everyone always want a class action lawsuit? The only winners are the lawyers, and the victims get nothing, or next to it. AND, all costs of a class action lawsuit are paid up front by the victims bringing the suit.***
..."even if you have paid this company off in full, you can still get some of that money back. The rates are illegal, the practice of not giving you the rate during or before the loan process is also illegal. There are laws that protect you, predatory lending is nothing new. Get with the others and burn CashCalls a**"!
***I have seen these contracts, and the interest rates and amount financed, etc. are clearly disclosed.***
.."Get the press involved, run a $5.00 add in the paper and on the radio, and find these people who have been burned, belive me it works"...
***This is my favorite! A $5 ad in the paper? Are you serious? have you ever placed an ad in a CA newspaper? more like $5 per word! CA rates are 10x what they are in TN.***
.."The stronger your case, the better. More people who have been ripped off by this company coming together = success. Im sure you see that 1 person , alone can get very little done. but the word and proof of 3,4,5,6,7 or even more will bring huge attention to this problem. And when compounded by media attention you now have plenty of legs to stand on, not to mention an attorney willing to take the case with very little or no money up front. i truly hope all of you the best of luck. But do not stand there and do nothing"...
***There is no case, because there is nothing illegal. Guaranteed. Want to really hurt them? DON'T USE THEIR SERVICES!!***

People just need to live within their means and plan their finances. Education is the key. It's just that we have raised 2 generations of morons. That's the root of the problem.
I believe the maximum allowable interest rate in CA is like 34.95% APR. That is approx 2.91% per month on the unpaid balance. Lets do the math.
A $10,000 loan in the very first month would be $291 in interest alone! Then you add in the principal to that. There is your monthly payment.
Now, add in late fees, etc. when those payments are not made on time.
This is the root of the problem. People who get these types of loans do it because they have already ruined their credit and cannot get a loan anywhere else. It is called SUBPRIME lending.
If you want good, affordable rates, build a good credit score and go to a bank or credit union.
