Cash Call practices dishonest and bad faith business. I originated my loan with Cash Call in October of 2006 at an outrageous interest rate 99.24%. As a single working mother whose vehicle died, I had no choice but to except the terms in order to replace my vehicle. They made the process sound so simple and helpfull and at first it was. Then I became suddenly ill and was on medical leave from work for months. My income was reduced by more than 50%, but since I did not want to default on the loan I contacted the company to attempt to make arrangements. They offerred me a one month deferrment and advised that this was the only option available, so I took them up on there offer. This deferrment however did not change the fact that I could no longer afford the full amount of the payment because of the reduction in my income...and I explained that to them. Shortly after I found out from a friend whom had also obtained a loan from Cash Call that they had not only received a deferrment for their payment but also a modification of their interest rate so that their payment had been reduced by half. They were able to obtain these changes without being in need of the modification.

By this time I was behind a payment, so I contaced the company yet again to explain my circumstances and request a modification. I was advised that since I had already received assistance (by way of the deferrment) then they could not consider my request for another 12 months. I continued ill and out of work, but continued to attempt the payments while I continued to contact the company to no avail. I then became completely unable to make the full payment so I contacted Cash Call yet again. I spoke to at least a dozen different people including "managers," "supervisors," and collections personell in order to request review of my account. I was yelled at, insulted, cursed at and hung up on. In the meantime Cash Call proceeded to harrass me and my contacts by phone calling easliy 10-20x per day. I spoke to them again and again and advised them that I did not intend on refusing to pay, I just could not afford the amount the requested again to no avail.

Finally, I was contacted by a very nice representative of Cash Call named Melvin Brookes who claimed to be a manager. I again explained to him the situation and advised him that no one had been able to assist me. He told me I was in luck because he was in a position of authority and had reviewed my account and pre-approved me for the modification...but first I would have to make a full payment in good faith. In my desperation to resolve this matter, I took him at his word and borrowed the money to make the payment. I called Melvin Brookes from the payment location and he advised me that he was faxing over the documents for the modification immediately. I waited for hours and continued to call him back as he convinced me that the forms would shortly arrive and kept placing me on hold for hours on end. Eight hours later I was advised by one of his colleagues that Melvin Brookes and Cash Call LIED!!! Melvin Brookes is not a manager and Cash Call never had any intention to honor the modification and they were requesting payment in full immediately.

I attempted to file a grievance against Mr Brookes and multiple managers and members of the staff denied me the proper channels. I was hung up on multiple times and was told that if I was "dumb enough" to fall for that then it was my problem and that Cash Call could not take my word over Mr. Brookes' word. To make matters worse they are still continuing to harrass me and are now threatening to pursue legal channels.

I cannot believe that this is happening to me and I do not know what to do. If anyone can hear me...I need advise as to how to pursue this matter with/against Cash Call.
