i received 5 calls at 9 am this morning a man was on the other end with heavy middle eastern accent . claimed someone in florida had filed a lawsuit against me for a loan i never took out  he stated his name was officer jack dawson (of course that a middle eastern name) i am a debt colector by profession. i advised him impersonating a police officer and threatening to put me in federal debtors prison (mind you , you cannot be arrested for debts, only sued if valid) is a violation of the fdcpa . he refused his company name and refused his real name instead he screamed at me for a few minutes so loudly it was inaudible . he then resorted to calling me m f......btch...told me to shut the f up . i advised him it is a ten thousand dollar fine for each offense or up to 1% of his companys net worth when they are found guilty for using fradulent collection tactics from 1957 and verbally assaulting and abusing me on the phone . he threatened that he was my m...f.... and hung up . i had a friend call back another middle eastern man with a heavy accent answered id as again officer jack dawson (imagine that) my bf asked him why he was speaking to me the way he was and he asked again his name the man told my bf he was an a hole and a mf and hung up...ive advised them i know this is a scam and have reported him to the ftc...state atty general..local police and the attys at my place of employment and they better be ready to take this all the way . i have called the company 7 times since now all the phones are shut off ....scam...rippoff....learn your rights look up the fdcpa if you have any questions. collectors cannot under any terms threaten imprisonment,seriouse trouble, harrasment is not defined in the fdcpa so it covers all abusive tactics you are protected . to the company in question stop abusing god fearing americans to fill your pocketbooks try it in your own homeland on your own people .
