Today I received my third phonecall *on my cell phone* from a company that (eventually) identified itself as "Liberty Financial." The bait they offered, like the instances others listed on RipOff report, was "free government grant money."

When I got through to a representative, "Dan", I informed him that the company had been continuously calling my cell phone, which was costing me minutes, and I asked if they could please not call me anymore. Then, unbeleivably, he said "What's your problem, lady?" I said that I knew that telemarketing to cell phones was illegal and repeated my request to be taken off the list, to which he answered "Listen, if you don't want our help, then stop wasting my f***ing time." Well, at this point I realized that this was not a real "company" and hung up on him.

I know this is a small instance and that I haven't been actually "ripped off" for more than just cell phone minutes (and the privacy of my phone number), but I wanted to post this first of all to let people know to watch out for phone calls and not just post cards.

Also, I wanted to speak out because I saw another Rip off report in which a woman complained of rude customer service and that, to my surprise, an "employee" had defended the company and said the woman was the one who was rude. I just want to assure you that I this "employee" is obviously in on the scam; I was in no way rude to them and actually was trying to be helpful so they wouldn't get in trouble for calling celll phone numbers, but they were incredibly rude to me right off the bat. If they are stealing from people, why on earth should they care about illegal telemarketing or being nice on the phone, right?
