Cash Call does what they do...

AUTHOR: Smartchic - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 12, 2008

and what you allow them to do to you.

I took out a loan with CC in 2006. I was in a situation, and I needed money fast. My credit is better now, and though it was bad-ish then, I probably could have gotten a different kind of loan.

I wanted a loan I'd get with minimal b.s....that they'd be falling over themselves to give me. They were.

I fully read the disclosures, knew the suck-a*s interest rate and had started formulating a plan to get them paid back immediately.

I had the loan for approx 6 months and then used some other money I borrowed (at a better rate) to pay off that crap.

YeS!!! I'm irritated that the $216 a month I paid didn't decrease the principal, but I knew that. Yess!! It was very expensive money. YES! It fit the need I had at the time.

I used it for exactly what it was meant and what they say on the commercial: THIS SHOULD BE USED FOR A SHORT TIME LOAN ONLY...

Now it shows as a positively paid and closed TL on my credit report and I have put them waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind me.

Where does it stop being a blame game and a customer takes responsibility for themselves? Cash call didn't come to the door and put a gun to your head and make you take a loan out with them. There are many other cash advance places that offer similar, but lower rates that you could've used. Cash Call only continues to do this because people continue to take out their loans and cry about it later. You have to take some personal responsibility in causing yourself this drama. If you wouldn't have taken their money, you wouldn't be in this situation.

Excuse Me?

AUTHOR: Tom - (U.S.A.)

I also have a good job making about $35,000 a year and good benefits. The point is, sometimes you get behind and more important things come first like putting food in your kids' belly or putting clothes on their back. I make my payments to Cash Call. Sometimes I am late but I pay them.

I'm sorry but whether you have good credit or bad credit, you shouldn't have to pay nearly 100% interest. That is not right. I could see 40 or 50% but 96%? C'mon! Cash Call takes advantage of people who are going through hard times. Now you are right on one thing, I called them, they didn't call me but they sure did do a good job of suckering me in.

The person I spoke to told me not to worry about the high interest rate that it showed on the contract. Yeah, I was gullable and needed the money but a business shouldn't lie to you like that. They should have been up front and said, if you get this loan, you will have to pay 96% interest. I have no doubt that eventually, they will get shut down or they won't be able to lend out of state. It's just a matter of time.

Another thing is, they know that some people can't afford the loan, so my question is, why do they give it to you? The reason is, they don't care. Better yet, J. Reddam doesn't care. He doesn't have to worry for nothing. Look at payday lenders, they can't do business in some states anymore because they were robbing people. They know if you borrow the money, you will have to keep borrowing because most people can't afford to pay back the money with out reborrowing it. Cash Call is a predatory lender just like the payday lenders.

WE HAVE A LOAN WITH THEM TOO

AUTHOR: Jacklynmariea - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 14, 2008

YES THEY ARE HORRIBLE TO LET CONSUMERS BORROW THE LITTLE BIT AN REPAY ALOT. ME AND MY HUSBAND BORROWED FROM THEM IN A TIME OF NEED, BUT IT WAS VERY HELPFUL TO HAVE THE OPTION ECSPECIALLY WHEN BANKS AND OTHER OPTIONS WERE CLOSED TO US. FACE IT, IF YOU APPLIED TO THEM YOU HAVE BAD CREDIT, SECONDLY WE HAVE BAD CREDIT CAUSE WE KEEP PUTTING OURSELFS IN SITUATIONS BEYOND OUR MEANS. OBVIOUSLY BAD CREDIT EQUALS BAD DECISIONS, SO INTURN WE WILL HAVE TO PAY MORE BACK WHEN MONIES ARE BORROWED.

IT WOULDNT BE FAIR TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE GOOD CREDIT TO REPAY A LOAN THE SAME WAY. THEY HAVE MADE SURE THEY AFFORD WHAT THEY GET, ON THE OTHER HAND WE SEE OPPURTUNITY AND JUMP AT IT W/O READING OR SIGNING. I WISH THE PAY BACK WAS SMALLER, BUT IN A TIME OF NEED YOU REALLY CANT STIPULATE WHAT YOU FEEL YOU SHOULD PAY. THEY DONT PRY ON PEOPLE THEY DIDNT CALL ME KNOCK AT MY DOOR OR MAIL ME ANYTHING, I SAW THEIR COMMERCIAL CALLED THEM AND ASKED FOR HELP.

I FEEL IT IS TIME FOR CONSUMERS TO STOP HAVING OUTLETS TO COMPLAIN, BUT RATHER PAY OFF WHAT YOU OWE AND DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. CHRISTMAS WAS HARD FOR US TOO, BUT ITS NOT ABOUT PRESENTS,GIFTS,OR MONETARY WANTS.TRY SAVING A LITTLE EACH PAYCHECK, LOOKING FOR A CAREER WHERE THE BENEFITS ARE GOOD, AND DECIDE NOT TO OVER EXTEND YOURSELFS. ITS NOT A QUICK FIX, BUT IT IS A FIX.

I WENT FROM STAYING AT HOME WATCHING MY SON TO 35,000 A YR WITH 100% PAID MEDICAL, AND IT HAS HELPED OUR FAMILY TREMENDOUSLY. THE INSURANCE ALONE SAVED US 240.00 A MONTH, AND HAVING ADDITIONAL INCOME WE BANK AT LEAST 2000.00 A MONTH AWAY BECAUSE WE NOW SEE THE IMPORTANCE OF EMERGENCY MONEY. WE DONT HAVE TO WORRY OR RELY ON ANYONE OR THING.

SO INSTEAD OF YOU TAKING TIME OUT TO WRITE A RIPOFF REPORT GET A PIECE OF PAPER OUT AND WRITE HOW YOVE WRONGED COMPANYS WHO HAVE ISSUED YOU CREDIT LOANS OR SERVICES YOU OBVIOUSLY CANT PAY. CAN U IMAGINE WORKING 40 HRS AND YOUR EMPLOYER TELLING YOU WELL, I DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY YOU IM IN A BIND ILL PAY YOU WHEN YOU GET THE MONEY? IT WOULDNT BE ACCEPTABLE FOR YOU SO ITS NOT FOR ANYONE ELSE. ITS CALLED GROWING UP. TRY IT, YOU WILL SEE ITS NOT THAT BAD.

THIS REBUTLE IS NOT TO OFFEND ANYONE I JUST WANT YOU TO SEE YOUR COMPLAINTS HAVE NO MERRIT. LET YOUR FRIENDS FAMILY BORROW MONEY FROM YOU AND LET THEM TELL YOU THEY CANT HOLD UP TO THE ARRANGMENTS, AND HAVE THEM WRITE A RIPOFF REPORT ON YOU BECAUSE YOU WANT YOUR MONE, ITS NOT RIGHT. GET A JOB WITH BENEFITS, AND START LOOKING AT YOU SPENDING HABITS WHAT YOUR DRIVING BUYING AND MAYBE YOULL BE ABLE TO HELP YOURSELF.

C'mon Already

AUTHOR: Tom - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 20, 2007

I am pretty sure that when Scott got a loan from Cash Call, he had every intention of paying it back. The reality is that sometimes you get into a bind that you didn't forsee. The problem is that Cash Call constantly calls you. I know because I also have a loan with Cash Call. I pay them every month, but a few times I couldn't make the payment on the due date so I called them to make arrangements. Even though I made arrangements and they agreed to them, I still got phone calls from them, e-mails and letters. That is the problem with them. I can understand that they are trying to collect their money but c'mon! When you make arrangements with them and they agree, they should not attempt to contact you unless you don't pay them on the date you agreed to.

I have never dealt with a company that does what they do. When you make an arrangement with most companies, they leave you alone but not Cash Call. They tried calling me at work once or twice but I informed them not to. And what Cash Call fails to realize is that if they cause you to get fired from work due to them calling you there constantly, then you won't be able to pay them! It seems that they just don't have a clue.

If you cannot repay the loan, do not borrow the money.

AUTHOR: Wilson - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 19, 2007

It is fun to read the reports about Cash Call. The CC customers take out loans with no required collateral, cannot make the payments, are harassed by CC's internal collections department, and of course, now they demand the shutdown of Cash Call.

I do not agree with nor condone Cash Call's loan shark high interest rates or their harassment calls to collect money, but I do defend their right to collect the money that is owed to them by the borrowers. If Cash Call is so bad with their high interest rates, why do people still borrow money from them? I have read that the interest rates calculated from the fees for pay-day advance loans are actually in the hundreds because borrowers of these pay-day advance loans have to back their loans every week and most borrows simply rollover their loans every week.

Here are First Bank of Delaware's current rates. Please be aware that not all applicants will qualify for every loan product or the lowest interest rate for a particular loan product. Some applicants will not qualify for any of the products. First Bank of Delaware reserves the right to change the rates and loan products listed below without notice.

Rates for $2,600 loan from cashcall.com for Pennsylvania
Loan Product Borrower Proceeds Loan Fee APR Number of Payments Payment Amt
$2,600 Loan $2,525 $75 26.88% 42 $92.08
$2,600 Loan $2,525 $75 99.25% 42 $216.55

No offense intended to Cash Call customers, but why would anyone want to borrow money from Cash Call at 26.88% or 99.25% APR except people who have terrible or no credit to their name. If you have terrible credit, you should not even borrow the money. With most credits cards, you can get cash advances for 28% APR and if you look really hard, you can find credit card advances for much less. My own credit card has a prime rate for life APR (purchases and cash advance, currently 7.5%).
