Cashnet - online Loan online scam internet

I too have received threatening phone calls first from a woman with a heavy Indian accent from Cashnet and she tells me that I never paid for an online loan that I took out sometime in 2008. She goes by, Tracy Clark, and can not tell me any details about the loan or what month I took the supposed loan out.

There is a lot of background noise and I can barely understand her so she transfers me to Tom Samuels who also has a heavy Indian accent. He tells me that I owe $1145 today and if I don't pay the loan off, I with need an attorney. The phone line didn't have a good connection and he hung up twice.

Then "Tom" calls me back and blames me. He says if I dont pay the money my case will be transfered to his attorney and I will be taken to court. They ask you three questions: have you ever been convicted of a felony? Do you have any liens against you? have you been convicted of fraud before?

Tom tells me in order to keep my case out of court I would have to pay at least half today $572 or there is nothing he can do. And I have to fax him a letter stating I authorize Cashnet to withdraw the money from my account!

This is the weird part, Tom also wants me to fax a letter giving 3 reasons why I'm SORRY for not paying the loan back!!!

So I went online to the Cashnet website and called customer service, they told me that I had applied for a loan with them, but was denied and never received ANY money from them. And when I checked my bank account from 2008 I never received a loan from Cashnet.

I think this scam is to get people to pay the money right away before they find out it's a scam! They make it sound like the police are coming to arrest you if you dont pay $1000 NOW. And they dont have any REAL facts. They try to use info. from the online application!
