Castle Credit Corp CCC, Castle Credit Corporation Harrassment Chicago, Illinois

My sister in law got a call from them and they said they were calling looking for my husband.  They told my sister in law that an investigation was pending against my husband and myself and if she didn't hurry up and get my husband to call that she would be implicated in the investigation.  She asked who he was and he only said he was a Circuit Court Arbitrator.  She called me right away and said it sounded really fishy and to get the recorder.

My husband is out of the State so I called and he told me that he is a Circuit Court Arbitrator (couldn't they get in trouble for this?) and would not tell me his name, his address,what company he was with (he just kept repeating he is with the courts as an arbitrator) his jurisdiction or anything.  He asked me if I knew what an arbitrator is and I explained that I did and he didn't sound like one.  I aslo stated that the number that showed up on my sister in law's caller ID was CCC 773-494-8961 and I asked what CCC was for.  He just kept repeating he is a Court Arbitrator.  Luckily I recorded the entire call as he called me names, cursed at me and was grossly unprofessional and rude. 

He said this was for some Castle Credit Corporation claiming my husband entered into a contract with them in Clark County.  I asked him where Clark County was and he said just outside of Chicago.  We have never been to that area...or even in that State!  He told me to go straight to the clerks office in my County to get all the details. He claims that my husband owes over $800 for some vacuum and they are also suing for over $1200 in court costs and legal fees if we do not pay right then and there.  I asked to have a copy of the contract and he refused.  I told him that I had a hard time believing a word he was saying because nothing he said made any sense and if what he claimed was true then we could see any evidence of this.  I requested to speak to a supervisor and he refused.  

I stated that he was grossly unprofessional and unless he could provide me with proof of his allegations and show some professionalism I had no other choice but to assume this is a hoax.  He then sarcastically remarked, " Well aren't you the Queen of Ambiguity."  Then went on and on.  I then requested to tape the conversation and at first he said no, then he said fine.  Once he knew that tape was playing, everything changed.  I asked him to repeat what it was he called me and he claimed to not know what I was talking about.  I asked him why he threatened my sister in law and he claimed he didn't know what I was talking about.  He took a totally different approach once he knew the call was being recorded.  Then I explained that the call was being recorded the entire time since he threatened my sister in law.  He said fine.  I asked him for his address for my attorney and he refused.  He claims that my attorney  can just call him...yet he won't give his name.  I said that was fine and my attorney would call and I hung up.  He then called me right back and asked if I could play the tape back for him so he could record it for himself.  I warned him and told him that I have legal representation and he could obtain this tape through my legal counsel and contacting me directly would be harassment as he had been advised that I have legal representation and my attorney will be contacting his office shortly.

I did a little research with the number given and found the name of what CCC meant and found a lot of similar complaints about them.  The number is unlisted but my sister in law blocks unavailable calls so in order for them to even get through they could not call as unavailable.
