Published:TOPSHAM Topsham police say a woman they summonsed for misuse of identification Monday used credit card information from a home health nurse to purchase products via the Internet.
Cathy G. Campbell, 58, of 23 Winter St., B-2, was charged with misuse of identification.
Lt. Christopher Lewis said police received a complaint on March 18 in reference to Internet purchases, which he said led police to Campbell. Lewis said Campbell allegedly used the victims information to purchase a number of small purchases from Internet sites. He said police have yet to assign a total value to the alleged thefts.
The victim, he said, realized immediately after receiving a bill that something was wrong. A home health nurse, the victim realized the items were being sent to Campbells residence.
Lewis, who said the report didnt indicate if the credit card was stolen or just the information taken, noted it doesnt take long for someone to write down your credit card information.
