I have signed up phone/cell/internet services with Cbeyond. We were promised competitive monthly service charges of not more than $495. Neither the promised services nor the monthly charges promise were delivered. Previous we were with Quest Communication for telephone and high speed internet services. Our monthly rate was an average of $320. However, our monthly bill jumped over $750.00 with Cbeyond. Moreover, some of the services that were original promised were never delivered. These are:


1)      Secure Backup and File share

2)      SecureVPN On-Net


We tried to get these services but not to avail. We even contacted our account representatives,  but he could not resolve the problem either. Furthermore, we lost our main line phone connection for more than two weeks and the company failed to fix the problem. The Cbeyond representative told us to contact outside vendors at our expense in order to fix the problem! Cbeyond really does not own any hardware or software of its own. The company just carries land and cell phones that are out of exclusive contracts with major carriers and borrows all of its broadband and wireless services from major companies like AT&T and Sprint.


Finally, we were fed up with Cbeyond and we decided to cancel the services. Now Cbeyond wants us to pay over $9000 (nine thousand dollars) of early termination fees. This is a consumer rip-off.  However, I am going to fight this nonsense. It is time FCC and state attorney generals investigate this company.
